Happy 11th Birthday to our handsome "DJ" Tizwaz Torres...... He still bounds round like a lunatic, has turned into the most loving hound, even if he still does want to "eat" every other dog on a walk, we still love him... Special dinner for all 3 tonight. Xx

The 2nd Willow (who used the run) is one of my dog walking customers... Her owner called me when they got back.... He is going to spread the word and is hoping to get a friend for Willow soon. X

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

It was a busy morning. Handsome Dan, Eric and Bell were lucky enough to have an outing to the park. All the other dogs had a nice walk down the lane. Thena found herself a lovely home with a sister called Willow, they got on really well. The first homing for June, hope we have many more. We had another Willow visit to use the sand run, she really enjoyed her run and her pawrents want to join our band of volunteers. We also had several visitors come to have a look around, they all commented on how nice the kennels are and how great the dogs look. Many thanks for the donations of bedding, towels and items for our donation table, it is very much appreciated. Fewer volunteers this afternoon, (in fact there were only 3 of us) and as the weather was wet and miserable the residents had some time in the run in the dry. Here's hoping for a good week ahead.

Harry
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Harry is GORGEOUS. He may be large but he's so gentle. I was excited to look at his pedigree and to see that his great Grandad is Just the Best who is my rainbow bridge boy's Daddy! If Harry is anything like Bert then he'll be a super gentle and respectful companion. Bert also lived to 13 and a quarter! Harry was shy in his kennel and had to be helped to get out for his walk but he walked beautifully. He responds well to people and looked like he got on well with the other greyhounds. Please would someone give him a chance and remember that being large doesn't mean being strong or difficult and also that his dry skin will improve and he'll lose his kennel coat. Fingers crossed for some viewings and a forever home very soon. x

So pleased I got chance to see and walk Buster today before he goes off to his forever home. He has so much character and he walked beautifully.

It's great that Thena now has her forever home but Annie looked so sad after Thena left. She was looking around her kennel and staring at me with sad eyes. She's so gorgeous. Please would someone give her a home. She's improving on the lead and I'm sure her overall confidence will grow when she's settled with a family (perhaps with another grey for company). Fingers crossed. x

Eddie (Dan)

Handsome Dan came with me to Elmdon Park today. He is a stunning boy, who loves company and stands happily to be fussed. He jumped in the car with minimal encouragement and settled down immediately. Once at the park, he walked very well. He is clearly enjoying experiencing the big wide world. He's not too sure about other dogs yet and will need some socialisation. He is absolutely adorable though and I'm sure he will make a great pet xx
