We should have been welcoming a new boy and girl today but they will now be coming in tomorrow along with a third girl. 🙂 Lucy and I took Harry to the vets for his neutering op this morning. He ended up going to their Moseley branch for X-rays on an old injury to his head as well as his neutering. Thankfully all was ok and he should be going to his new home very soon. He really is a special lad, sending him my cuddle tonight. Xxx It was lovely to see Honey G reserved this afternoon. She has to meet her new Greyhound family of four over the weekend to make sure all will be ok and then she too will soon be going home. :)) Thanks so much to everyone for their help today. Alan brought doughnuts! Then told us he won't be in for the next couple of weeks...what on earth will we do! :))) Xxx

How dare my hoomans take me to the horrid vet! They know I don’t like it there! Was shaking and was determined to not enter the scary building. I was forced. Forced I was. Poor little old me had to sacrifice the pain. Thankfully everything was all ok! I’m a healthy Grey. The vet lady couldn’t see anything wrong and she even gave me a treat. Not so bad after all but I will still refuse to enter every time! Barney Xx

Lots of volunteers both morning and afternoon, so all dogs had lovely walks down the lane. Thanks to everyone who helped. We had our two lovely French students start today. After being shown around the kennels, they went on walks, bathed 2 dogs fed the chickens and met our resident cats! My French is now pretty much extinct, thankfully their English is quite good. Denise and Emily both had translation apps downloaded on their phone's and I downloaded it on to mine tonight. So between us we should get by quite well. Thanks for the donations of bedding and items for our donation table and car boot sales. Handsome Harry was reserved pending a home check, he has really started to be more confident. His new greyhound brother came to meet him, they got on great, unfortunately his potential fur sister did not come as she gets car sick, bless her. Hoping we have more viewings, reservations and homings this week.

Oh my goodness, well done my beautiful boy!!! I was so worried that your shy nature might mean you would have to wait a while. Teddy & I are just squealing with delight. Such a massive, massive thankyou to whoever has reserved you. Now, I just need another hero for my beautiful shy girl Bell. X

Am so sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly again. It must be so miserable and frustrating. Hopefully the operation will make you feel much better. Did you get the photos of Bell I texted you from the roadshow??? Seana xx

I am so fed up and offer my apologies to all those who have asking me when I can do nails and corns etc. I am currently off sick as the pain relief I am taking is making me too dizzy to drive. I had an MRI scan yesterday and hope to have my operation in the next few weeks. I am missing being at the kennels more than I can say - it is a huge part of my life but I am going to entertain myself at home today with registering microchips (it is a long and tedious process for each one) and the rest of the paperwork. However I have the company of my gorgeous Tigger and Momma who are just beyond fabulous! Ruth x

Barney is off to the Vets to today for a little medical. He seems to be his normal destructive scrounging mad self.

Richard, Shirley and Lucy took Six of our residents on a field trip today. We were asked if we could help with a Dog Walking Workshop at Blythe Valley Park in Shirley. Bocko, Dan, Honey, Eric, Bolt and Bell went off to help out with lunchtime walks with some of the employees of the various businesses. It was hard work for our Greyhounds as they had to do four twenty minute walks in a row to cover the various lunch breaks. 🙂 I believe they were all very well behaved and enjoyed all the extra attention. :)). It was nearly time for their evening meal when they all got back to the kennels. The weather was very kind and only started to rain ten minutes after their return. 🙂 Those of us left behind did normal morning and afternoon walks, health checks and weighing. 🙂 Thanks so much to Gloria who went up to the top of the drive armed with dustpan and brush to collect up glass some irresponsible person had smashed all over the footpath, :(( Thanks so much to everyone for their help today. Xx All the doggies were very quiet when we left them tonight. :))) Have to say a BIG thank you to Richard, Shirley and Lucy, not only for all their help today but for bringing back MacDonalds Chicken nuggets and fries after the walk. :)) Xxx

Popped into kennels today. Gloria & I had lovely cuddles with Annie & Harry. Annie gave Gloria kisses & just as I said I wonder if Harry will ever kiss anyone he gave me several gentle kisses so I did an impression of my Teddy & squealed with delight. I do love this boy and he always walks so placidly. Laughing at LM's post......I have had the same problem with Master Robbie, as did one of the DoE volunteers last Friday. I thought we would never get him going again! I think he would just prefer to be carried and cuddled!!!!!! Another lovely character. No matter how many come and go they never cease to amuse me! I think Annie is finding it strange without Thena.....I have never seen her so quiet but she & Harry were sharing the top bunk nicely so that was good to see. Looking forward to the Sunday park walk.
