    I’m Homed

Such a busy day, it started with just Bella and myself in to clean and feed. Then we were descended on with lovely people to take some kennel dogs to Brueton park for the GGGW. Thanks so much to everyone who took a kennel dog. Harry was unable to go as he was post op after his neutering but had a lovely groom. The remaining inmates had a great time having some therapy with the lovely canine massage team. Honey was the first to return to the kennels after the walk, she met a lovely family and their really cute whippet who had come to view a different dog (Vicky, Moe about her later). She made a greyt impression and got herself a home. I (and many more people) am so very happy for her, she really is a beautiful little girl who so deserves this so very very much. Well done sweetie. Dan, now Eddie went home, he is such a handsome happy boy. Good luck to him and his new family. Vicky also got lucky and was reserved, when she came in to kennels the other day her trainer said that she could be quite nervous with new people, if that means playing and kissing I agree!!! We have raffle tickets available, there are some great prizes. The draw will be at 3pm at our birthday party on 30th June. If you cannot make it to the kennels but still want tickets we can take a card payment over the phone, technology eh, we can still get your money without you being there, how cool is that??? Thanks again to everyone for their help today. Here's hoping that the great start to the week continues. X

How lovely to see so many ex Daybreaks hounds, all looking fabulous, on the walk this morning and wasn't it nice that the weather was so much better than yesterday!!! Especially nice to see Willis (still needs a bit of encouragement to get started!), Conte, (handsome boy), Nifty and Cilla (always a pleasure) Leyla (whose mum said had been quite poorly, but who now is looking great and to hear how much each dog is loved by their respective families. I think the current Daybreaks residents who came had a nice time. From what I could see all the dogs were well behaved around non hounds some of whom were running around off lead. Ash and Charlie are now unconcious!!!! Thankyou to all the lovely people who adopt these incedible dogs! xxxxx

    I’m Homed

Annie, Annie, Annie... this little bundle of energy is so much fun! She accompanied me on the GGGW at Brueton Park. She travels well in the car, sitting comfortably in the boot (she did need to be picked up into the boot - however on the way back to the kennels, she jumped straight in!). Annie finds the park very exciting, making sure she was up at the front of the pack! She really needs an experienced owner to help her with her socialisation skills with other breeds, especially the fluffy small ones! I’m sure with the help of volunteers taking her out to the park she’ll soon understand they’re just dogs 🙂 xx

    I’m Homed

Bocko came with me on the Great Global Greyhound Walk... He was a little excited at first but once in the car settled extremely well (jumped in himself and lay down)... He was strong on lead at beginning of walk, but very settled after 10 mins with no further pulling, he was fab with all the other breeds of dogs running on and off lead around him, ignoring 90% of them even when up close... The other 10% was just an ear lift, to say "what's that". He crashed on his bed on return. X

    I’m Homed

Saturday's Daily Diary!... Don't think I will mention the weather! 🙂 Buster went home at lunch time and it was great to see an update from his family last night. Be a very good boy Buster! Told him we only wanted to see him at the kennels again as a visitor!!! Jess had clients for a pamper and we had several nail clipping requests including the very handsome Eli, who was Buster when he was at the kennels. His Mom told us what a perfect boy he is and his family absolutely adore him. :)) Despite how wet it was we managed to sneak in walks between monsoons! Thanks so much to everyone who came prepared to get wet. :)) I was so sad to find out Misty one of our regular visitors to the kennels had gone to Rainbow Bridge. Such a very sweet little girl. Xxx We had more memory tags to add to our Memory Wall. Andy very kindly put them on for us. Sara's tag is now next to her beloved Cracker and Charlie. Xxx If you would like a tag on the wall to remember a loved one please pop into the kennels or give us a call on 0121 782 7702. I say goodnight to my Twiggy when I leave the kennels each night. Xxxxx Sending lots of love to Ruth, Tig and Momma, we miss you all very much. Xxx Xxx

Just a brief update on Buster, who came home with us today. He has investigated the house and garden, everywhere has been sniffed well! He has played ball in the garden, met the dog next door, been for a walk, and is snoring in his bed now. Fingers crossed for a settled night!

A new small, very small furry thing has joined the family. Apparently it’s called ham something but I like food! I’ve been too interested in it and every time I get too excited I have to be take away or get my muzzle on! I’m getting better. The little fury thing might have to be in a different room when the hoomans aren’t here. Florence I am so excited to see you. The hoomans are excited too. We will have to make the most of it. I’m excited for another game of musical beds and our special Waggy tail game! See you next week! Barney Xx
