Well my lovely boy, you know you and Bell have both touched my heart with your gentle and shy natures. I wish you many happy years and will be praying that you receive much love, kindness and most importantly patience in helping you to continue with coming out of your shell and learning to trust. I will miss you loads and will be hoping that we might hear of your progress. Sending warm wishes to your new family. How lucky they are.....not that I'm jealous in the slightest...LOL!!! Good luck sweet boy. Xxxx

Can't wait to meet you tomorrow. Your Great great Grandad was my rainbow bridge boy Bert's Dad. He was the softest gentlest respectful boy. Harry who has just been rehomed was related to Bert in the same way. He's a gorgeous sensitive boy too. Even several blood lines later the traits have continued. Whoever adopts you will have a special little girl. I'm sure you'll get used to your new life soon with all the help you'll get. x

Oh little Maisie... You’re so scared about life and all these new people that are around you. I promise Daybreaks is a nice place. We made some progress and managed to get a harness on you so that you don’t have to feel too uncomfortable about having your collar touched. Someone’s going to have to put a lot of time into you but it will be worth it! Xx

Hi all! Thena is settling really well in her new home - she has a new sister, Willow [Olivia/Fortunate Woman] who is helping to bring her out of her shell a little bit. Thena is loving having a huge box of toys and lots of fuss and cuddles. She's already been on a day out to Cotswold Wildlife Park for her new adopted Dad's birthday and loved every minute of it! Her eating also seems to have stabilised - partly human persistence, partly the realisation that Willow is a pig and will eat whatever she doesn't. I don't think Thena is ever going to be a typical grey where food is concerned!

So I had a really early morning and an early walk, mom put my harness on and I wouldn’t leave her side till she put me in the car. We drove for hours and hours and hours and then arrived at........Barney’s house!! So very excited. I’m lying in Barney’s bed at the moment and he’s on mine, our favourite game! Looking forward to Daybreaks tomorrow! Hopefully meet Dessy who is Barney’s brother. Lubs to all Florence xxx

Barney

It’s only early afternoon and this day has already been so exciting! Florence is here! Yay! As soon as she arrived we all went mad. It was a big game of who had the most Waggy tail competition! Not sure who won! We have already had many games of musical beds and we are currently having another game now. So fun! Excited to see what tonight and tomorrow will bring! Barney Xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

I am sure everyone will agree the weather today was disgusting! 🙂 I was a little worried that we may have arrived at the kennels to find a flood somewhere but thankfully all was nice and dry! I dropped Billy off at the vets for his neutering operation this morning. He is a lovely boy. He met a small dog in the waiting room and was very good with him. A little wobbly when I picked him up later this afternoon, but all the staff had quite fallen for his gentlemanly charms! :)) x Dessy arrived today. What a stunning lad! He is a little stressed at the moment but hopefully he will soon settle in his new surroundings. He did enjoy his bath and all the attention from Lucy and our two French students. Xx Thanks so much to Lucy for the lovely photos of Dessy and for all the new shots of some of our current residents. The one of Eric with his toy is great! :)) Everyone managed to get two walks today despite the rain, not sure all enjoyed the experience though!! 🙂 Richard and I had an excursion to the tip....we managed to take the wrong turn twice! We blamed it on the the excess spray on the road! :)) Thanks so much to everyone for your help today and for getting very wet! We are looking forward to have another couple of new arrivals later in the week. Xx Xxx

Rosie

Our time with house guest Rosie is nearly up. She is a wonderful girl and I have no doubt she won’t be waiting long for a forever home. Rosie is very clean in the house, we haven’t had to train her at all. She has been very good with our 2 young children, but like all dogs sometimes she likes her own space. She doesn’t seem to like jumping and hasn’t ventured onto the settee, she is usually happiest lying on the floor!! She’s a great walker and travels in the car well, although we’ve had to lift her in. What more can I say about Rosie?! She’s been great in every way and the kids especially are very fond of her. Not sure about her feelings about other dog breeds, she met a golden retriever she wasn’t too keen on but other than that she’s been fine. She didn’t suffer any anxiety when she first came here and has seemed OK flying solo without her kennel mate. She has been very good when we have had to go to work for a few hours. But she will let you know when she wants a walk as she starts to search for thing to take back to her bed when she’s getting restless. Thanks for coming Rosie, we’ve loved having you xx

Owned by Grey - we were fortunate to meet you at kennels on Sunday when you were looking at Vicky but hadn't quite decided (although we could all see how taken with her you were). I'm so pleased you've decided to let another grey into your hearts after losing Misty. Hopefully she'll keep you smiling and laughing to help with the loss even if just a little.
