Hi, an update on behalf of my mum who adopted Dan (now Eddie - my partner’s name is Dan so it would have been a bit weird haha!) He’s settled in a treat - the sofa is now definitely his! He’s such an affectionate little lovebug - he follows us around everywhere and just wants constant fuss! He’s been golden on walks so far. No pulling, no chasing, has a good look at other dogs but is happy to walk on by when prompted. Absolutely just loves people! Thinks everyone is his new best friend. My mum is spoiling him rotten, nothing but the best for her baby haha 😉

    I’m Homed

There was a sense of deja vu this morning as it was very grey and wet first thing - however things did get better and the doggies were able to have both morning and afternoon walks, sandwiched between the showers! Bubbles was back to her bubbly self today, her tail wagged so much she wagged the dressing off and kennel mate Billy thought it was a new toy to play with! We dressed it again - and then again about 5 minutes later as she had lost that one as well! We were just locking up to leave tonight when we spotted a smear of blood on the wall - yes, she'd managed to lose another dressing! We bandaged her up yet again, and hope she goes off to her new home very soon so she can wag that tail without fear of whacking it on a wall!! Fingers crossed the dressing is still on in the morning! Little Maisie was still quite fearful of coming out of her kennel, but by using a harness we could move her around and walk her. Even over the course of the day we noticed a little improvement - Jo spent some time sitting in the kennel with her and after a while she started to approach Jo and look at her. Maisie loves her food and can be tempted with bits of ham. It will take time and patience, but I am sure this little girl will learn to trust and gain some confidence. Cach is a lovely lady and enjoyed her bath given to her by our French students. As for Dessy - wow, what a big handsome boy. He is sharing his kennel with little Annie and they seem to be getting along just fine. I agree with Kate that it is now time for Annie to find a home of her own, she has seen so many kennel mates come and go bless her. It was brilliant to see Bolt reserved this afternoon, hopefully he will be off to his new home next week. The lovely Rosie came back from her spell in foster this afternoon. She has been a very good girl in the home, very gentle with the young children and very well behaved. Lets hope she can soon find a home of her own now we know how well she does out on the world. Many thanks for everyone's help today - at least this week we managed to stay dry! Well the weekend is upon us again, time is just flying by. We have our Fathers Day walk in Sheldon Country Park on Sunday so keep your fingers crossed for some dry weather - and hope lots of Fathers enjoy a walk with the hounds. If anyone would like to take a kennel dog along please give us a call on 0121 782 7702. I will take my leave with my usual wish and glass of wine - homes for our beautiful boys & girls. Have a good weekend one and all - cheers! Angie xxx

    I’m Homed

It was great to see Florence and Barney back together again along with Jo's gang having a lovely time in the sand run! Thankfully the rain stayed away for them to play. So nice to see Klaire too....good luck with winning something on our Birthday raffle. :)) We had a lot of computer problems yesterday. We did have a new arrival Maisie but couldn't add her to the website. She is a very nervous little girl at the moment and can sometimes be quite reactive when trying to get her out of her kennel or lead her up for a walk. I am sure she will be fine once she gets to know the kennels and the people around her. It must be so daunting to some of them to move home and leave behind all that they know and understand. We are like that too; most of us don't like to change things around us too much. Xx We had another new arrival today a beautiful girl called Cach. She is very elegant and very pretty. 🙂 Xxx Several ex residents popped in for pampers with Jess and Lucy. It was so good to see Suarez, Mikey, Roxy and Missy again! All looking fantastic. :)) Our beautiful Harry went home today. We will all miss him very much. Such a good boy, no trouble at all to look after. Sending him lots of love and wishing him a very happy new life with his new family. Xx Bubbles went off to the vet first thing for her neutering operation. She was very wobbly when I picked her up this afternoon. She didn't want any dinner...hopefully she will have her appetite back tomorrow. She is a very happy girl with a very waggy tail! Sadly this has led her to split her tail. The vet redressed it for her. Fingers crossed she will be going to her new home soon and she will have more room to wag it! 🙂 Xx Thanks so very much to everyone for their help today. Xx :)) The sun didn't quite make it out but there's always tomorrow! Xxx

Hi everyone, unfortunately my best pal and cousin Florence has gone back home. Been quiet since she has left and miss her loads. Hopefully it won’t be too long until we are back together again. Had a greyt time at the run today with the whole gang. Thanks for coming Auntie Jo and gang it was lovely to see you! Florence loves chasing everyone as I just jogged along at the back. Auntie Klaire really wanted to get an octopus for Florence while we were at the kennels. There were loads of amazing toys for sale. I got one too! Thanks so much Auntie Klaire for my long doggy! Unfortunately the dog can’t run so I just throw him across the room in excitement. Of course before Florence left we had our last game of musical beds. Best game ever. You should all try it. Barney Xx
