I do feel for them. It’s awful when our hounds are poorly. I know we have to stop Lena's Previcox whenever she has a poorly tummy so let’s hope withdrawing Alice’s Metacam helps her tum and she can get her painful tooth or teeth sorted as soon as possible. Poor Alice we all just want her well again. Big virtual hugs for everyone xxxx

    I’m Homed

Well, the weather was quite good today, all dogs had morning and afternoon walks and stayed dry. Thanks Wednesday walkers and all who came in this afternoon. Very quiet for visitors. Maisie has made great progress, I went into her kennel this morning and she decided it was fun to jump all over me, spinning around, playing and generally making sure I had a good wash! She is fast becoming a favourite with us all, especially our French students. Dessy and Annie were fine today in their separate kennels after their little disagreement the other day. I think Dessy is missing some company, he does look a little sorry for himself with the inflatable donut of shame! Bubbles is such a very, very happy girl, so much so she has split the end of her tail (yes, there is such a condition as happy tail). I re-dressed her tail twice again today, it never stops wagging. There must be some force behind that wagging for her dressing to fly off. On Friday she managed it four times, the first time her kennel mate Billy jumped off the bed, retrieved it and promptly tried to eat it. Hoping she keeps it on this time, although I'm not holding my breath! Hope it is a good day tomorrow. X

    I’m Homed

I am sitting admiring our new snow shovel! It's by the French doors waiting to go to its new home in the shed! It you would like a shovel of your very own you can adopt one from the kennels for just £1...I'm sure you will agree a real bargain! :))) x Thanks so much to Norman for taking lovely Billy for a trip to the park this morning. He had a great time and was a very good boy. His long time kennel mate Bubbles will be going home soon, it would be brilliant if he found his forever home too. Xx Nice to see recently homed Eddie (Dan) come to use the run. He had a wonderful time. He was a little nervous about getting out of the car when he arrived, think he thought he was coming back to stay! Richard,Declan and Lucy decided to sort out the store of duvets..they did a great job and all look neat and tidy now. 🙂 The dogs in the kitchen were happy to supervise! Steve has fitted a lovely new tap on our water heater. It's great, thanks Steve! :)) Thank you to everyone who brought in donations of food and bedding, so kind of you. Xx Annie and Dessy are both ok today. Dessy is a little stressed to be on his own but unfortunately we don't have anyone else suitable to pair him up with at the moment. He could really do with a home of his own with someone to love him and help him feel safe. Annie and all our other boys and girls need the same thing too...Xxx

We have received some worrying news today. Poor Alice has been taken ill while on holiday in Devon. She has not eaten for 24 hours and keeps vomiting. A local vets has treated her and if the vomiting doesn't stop she will be admitted for x-rays. Our thoughts are with Mick and Lyn at this time as we know they are worried sick for Alice xx

Billy today paid a visit to Elmdon Park. After travelling well in the car his behaviour in the park was perfect. Very relaxed on the lead and no problems when meeting a small fluffy at close quarters. a lovely dog to to take out who will be a wondeful companion to the family who eventually give him his future home

Awwww. Poor Annie. You've been in the wars - although it sounds like poor Dessy has come off worst? As the longest stayer you get my cuddle today. x

Happy 2nd gotcha day to our girl can't quite believe we have had her 2 years already, she is still scared of everything but copes with it now, loves her little sisters Ruby & Gracie (Jack Russells) especially Ruby she even stands over her while Ruby wee's, she has quite a funny character and we laugh everyday at the antics she gets up to but she is a very well behaved baby and we love her to bits xx

    I’m Homed

A day of ups and downs today... Annie and Dessy had a disagreement in the kennel run which resulted in a trip to see the vet. Nothing serious but it meant a little bit of glue for Annie and a few staples for Dessy! 🙁 We have now put them in separate kennels. Obviously not a match made in heaven! Xxx Good news is Maisie is doing great. She had more visitors throughout the day. When I was closing up the kennels tonight, she made sure I had very clean hands to go home. Xxx Poor Honey gave us all a fright when she squealed whilst waiting to go for a walk this morning. She had managed to put her bottom on a stinging nettle! She did a very high skip and a jump, but was happy to go off for a walk. :)) Many thanks to everyone for their help today. It didn't rain!!!!
