2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
What a lovely day it was today, must be Summer! Doggies managed to have both morning and afternoon walks and I managed to get 2 lines of washing dry! It was great to see Ruth for a short time today, she is really missing being involved with the dogs and so she was soon in the treatment room tackling corns!! Stripy Pants Tig and Momma spent the time waiting for their Mum in the office, it was lovely to see them too and Tig is doing well after her major op. As it was such a lovely day we put a bed in the big outside feeding run and Dessy spend the day there. He is not happy in his kennel bless him, but seemed to enjoy being outside and able to watch the world go by - he even had a mad 5 minutes trying to 'dead' a stuffed toy!! I had the pleasure of giving Bolt a bath ahead of his new Mum coming to pick him up this afternoon. He was a star and stood with his head on my shoulder while I washed him, then jumped down very carefully when we had finished and patiently let me dry him off. We wish him and his new Mum many years of happiness ahead. x It was a quiet day for visitors, but those we did have came bearing gifts - lovely donations of bedding and towels and more items to help in our fundraising endeavours. Thank you everyone. Many thanks for everyone's help today - I think we all enjoyed the feel of the sun on our faces and being dry! The weekend is upon us again, and I make my usual wish that some more of our beautiful boys & girls will be lucky and find their forever families. We have roadshows at Melbicks Garden Centre on both days so keep your fingers crossed. Now off to enjoy a glass of wine and toast our doggies - we have a kennel full of beauties at the moment all so deserving of their very own home - let's hope it happens for them very soon. Have a great weekend - cheers! Angie xx

Harry
Over the Rainbow Bridge
I spoke to Harry's Mum yesterday. She said to let everyone know he is doing fine and she loves him! He loves his new Greyhound family and is especially close to Daisy, he won't go for a walk without her. 🙂 He is a little scared of the television at the moment and takes himself off to another room when it is on, bless him. So very happy for him. Xxx

Maisie
I’m Homed
Loving the new photos of Maisie! She is so much more confident than when I last saw her! Willingly coming up for cuddles and attention now. She will still need an experienced owner, as certain situations still scare her. But I am so impressed how well she has come in just a week! X

Annie
I’m Homed
Little Annie had a trip to the vets yesterday. She was a very brave girl, she travels well in the car. Although needs some encouragement into the boot (she’s only a tiny girl!). She jumped out the car no problems! She was so brave as the vet looked at her bite wound, I’m sure she’ll be back to her happy self in no time! Little Annie really loves company of other greys, she just needs to find the right one xxxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
Maisie had a great time chasing various volunteers around the small run waiting for her breakfast! She is quite different to the little girl who arrived last week. :)) Richard, Alan and Lucy had a trip to the warehouse this morning, but not until they all had a chocolate doughnut:) Thanks Alan, we missed you last week! 🙂 Poor little Annie had another trip to the vet this afternoon. Sadly although only a very minor injury from her fallout with Dessy earlier in the week the wound had become infected and she now has a course of antibiotics. Thanks so much to Jess for driving over to Moseley with her. Xxx Dessy is still quite stressed 🙁 His wound looks good and healing nicely. We are hoping he will soon find himself a home where he can relax and enjoy life. Xx Richard repaired our leaking tap in the bathroom and cleaned all the windows in the office. Bless him! Xx Lee and our French students gave all the residents teeth a clean and carried out some health checks too. Thanks so much to everyone who came into help today and to everyone who brought bedding and items for us to sell or raffle. All the new photos of the current residents are fab! Thanks Lucy! Xxx Xxx

Happy 1st Birthday to our special little girl! She sadly spent the day at the vets having her leg x-rayed. There is slight infection in the bone but overall she is doing really well. We are massively grateful to Chris and all at Fivelands Vets for all their help with Tig. Her surgery has been done for a fixed cost of £2600. If she had been treated elsewhere, this would have been in the region of £9,000 to £10,000!!!!! Thank you FIVELANDS!
