Over the Rainbow Bridge
Morganmum here, had to reregister as I've changed emails. Thankyou to LadyVictoria for the kind words. We are absolutely heartbroken at losing Roxy. She has been a huge part of our family over the years and always had a wagging tail and lots of cuddles for anyone she encountered. She was such a wonderful girl, I'll miss our cuddles lay together on the carpet and the giggles from your sisters as you pulled down their blankets off the sofas to snuggle in! My gentle, beautiful, loving girl, I hope you're running free over rainbow bridge, with blankets a plenty to steal and wrap yourself up in! We will miss you forever. All our love, your family xxxxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

In contrast to yesterday, it was very quiet for visitors and volunteers for that matter. Lorna had 2 pampers this morning, there was a sand run booking and a lovely couple looking for a new greyhound. The dogs that didn't get a walk this morning had some fun in the sand run. I am so very pleased that little Maisie is so much happier and braver than when she arrived. I managed to sneak into her kennel this morning and have cuddles. Bolt popped in with his mom, he has settled well and is taking everything in his stride, not phased at all about coming in for a visit. Don't forget, as if you could with all the reminders we have posted, next Sunday is our 13th birthday party and coincidentally a year to the day that I hung my NHS badge up after nearly 30 years and joined the Daybreaks team. Best thing ever, so it will by my 1 year Daybreaks gotcha day. The weather forecast is looking good. Hope to see as many of you there as possible. Should be a fab day. 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A busy day for visitors 🙂 Many thanks to everyone who dropped in to leave bedding, food and raffle prizes. Xx Ruth was in for a few hours this morning. :)) It was lovely to see her. She tried to help Max, a lovely older Lurcher find a new friend. He lost his Greyhound companion recently and is feeling very sad. Unfortunately he didn't meet Miss Right today but will hopefully visit us again. Xx Jess had several clients for pampers and mini pampers. Kitty and Bobby were here quite early. They both looked great when they left. 🙂 We took Maisie for her first play in the sand run. Wow! Can she run! She absolutely loved it. She was such a good girl and came straight back to us. She is becoming a real character. :)) Annie's head wound looks ok. Jess bathed it for her afternoon. Dessy''s staples are still where they should be too! :)) Things have gone a little quiet for homings at the moment, please let everyone know what super dogs Greyhounds are. :)) We have around 80 wonderful Greyhounds on our waiting list ready to come into the kennels. We should have several new arrivals this week. 🙂 Xxx

2 years today since I took my grey faced food monster home. Not much has changed, she's still a foodie through and through, shes definitely gone greyer.. well, it's a stressful life trying to plan how to steal food 24/7. To celebrate we took her on her favourite walk and I let her destroy a squeaky toy. Sadly there were no treats as she, in true Ellie fashion, is sporting a poorly tum so I have promised her as soon as she feels better she can have a bit of peanut butter! xxxxx
