My poor Skip must be the unluckiest Greyhound I know! Just before I went home I thought he and Bobby would like a few minutes in the sand run. They were having a great time when there was a collision which resulted in Skippy ending up with a wound on his back. 🙁 Fortunately Fivelands was still open and I took him straight there. He had several staples to hold the wound together! He was a brave boy :)) Thanks so much to Christian, Jade and Julie at the vets for fitting him in and looking after him. :)) That is the third time he has been, bitten apparently by accident! I'm beginning to get suspicious! Sending my lovely lad a big cuddle tonight. Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A trip to the vet first thing for our delightful Billy to have the first part of his vaccination. He met a little Shih Tzu when we got out of the car. He was great with her, didn't really take any notice he was a perfect gentleman. 🙂 He was very good with Christian the vet too. Our vets have new vaccination cards there is a lovely photograph of a certain Maisie and Monty on the front of them! :)) Vicky, now called Fizz went home this afternoon. 🙂 Such a lovely girl, she has been a pleasure to have at the kennels. Xxx Thanks so much to everyone for all their help today. Bella sorted out the chicken run, cleared the weeds that are growing oh so fast around it. 🙂 Xxx

Morganmum here, had to reregister as I've changed emails. Thankyou to LadyVictoria for the kind words. We are absolutely heartbroken at losing Roxy. She has been a huge part of our family over the years and always had a wagging tail and lots of cuddles for anyone she encountered. She was such a wonderful girl, I'll miss our cuddles lay together on the carpet and the giggles from your sisters as you pulled down their blankets off the sofas to snuggle in! My gentle, beautiful, loving girl, I hope you're running free over rainbow bridge, with blankets a plenty to steal and wrap yourself up in! We will miss you forever. All our love, your family xxxxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

In contrast to yesterday, it was very quiet for visitors and volunteers for that matter. Lorna had 2 pampers this morning, there was a sand run booking and a lovely couple looking for a new greyhound. The dogs that didn't get a walk this morning had some fun in the sand run. I am so very pleased that little Maisie is so much happier and braver than when she arrived. I managed to sneak into her kennel this morning and have cuddles. Bolt popped in with his mom, he has settled well and is taking everything in his stride, not phased at all about coming in for a visit. Don't forget, as if you could with all the reminders we have posted, next Sunday is our 13th birthday party and coincidentally a year to the day that I hung my NHS badge up after nearly 30 years and joined the Daybreaks team. Best thing ever, so it will by my 1 year Daybreaks gotcha day. The weather forecast is looking good. Hope to see as many of you there as possible. Should be a fab day. Jo x P.s We will be reminding you throughout the week, just in case it slips your minds!!
