I've shed a happy tear at this news. So pleased Shadow is doing well. He was a definite favourite. I remember the first time I went in his kennel and he pinned me against the wall and wanted to play. Like a grown up puppy! x

Richard and Shirley - I'm so sad to hear your sad news. Bert and Mr Guiness can run free together. The old boys looking after the ones who passed too soon. I know you'll be heartbroken as we are despite their ages. Thoughts are with you. Thoughts are also with Susie's family. Lynne, Simon, Skip and Sam x

Following her CT at Brentknoll, the results have been reviewed by Chris at Fivelands and he is going to do an arthroscopy on Wednesday and will hopefully be able to removed the bone fragment. We will keep you posted.

After all the recent sad news, how lovely to hear an update on Shadow. It's just fantastic that he has found himself such a wonderful home and he is clearly adored by his new owners, it was a long wait for him to find his forever home, but it sounds like it was worth the wait. Shadow (Treaty) (Murphy)

Shadow's new Mom called today to let us know how his getting on... She said he is doing just great. He is being such a good boy and they have even got him to be in the garden with the chickens, muzzled of course! :)). He is very affectionate loves lots of cuddles, he likes to "wash" everyone's face. :)) She said they decided to call him Shadow as he follows her partner everywhere about an inch away from him. 🙂 She said to let all his fans know he is a very happy lad and is adored by her and her family. We are so grateful to them and so very happy for him. Xx Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Another beautiful day and we took advantage of the sunshine, so instead of afternoon walks all the residents had a play in the sand run. The smaller run now has some agility equipment in there and it was so nice to see the dogs "having a go!" Some were much better than others. I was told that Thena was the best! :)) I don't know who had more fun the dogs or Jess, Stacy and Lauren! :)) After dinner the dogs were very quiet and fast asleep in no time. Xx Louis popped in this morning and got to work meeting some of the dogs. Thena was great with him, her kennel mate Annie was very excited but not aggressive to meet him. 🙂 Several of the other dogs met him too and most were very good with him. He had his reward with a play in the sand run....his ball stayed on the right side of the fence today. :)) It was a very quiet day for visitors today. Jess had a couple of customers for a pamper and we had some callers for food. Sadly no viewings for our lovely boys and girls. 🙁 If you are thinking of having a dog, please come and visit our beautiful Greyhounds. Xx Xxx

Can't believe Mr Guinness has gone to Rainbow Bridge. He looked so well on Tuesday when he came to the kennels for the day. He and Bobby got on so well. They were two very dignified older Genetlemen. Thinking of Richard, Shirley, Cello and Millie. May God Bless his handsome new angel.Lots of love Kate, Skipper, Fletcher, Lyra and Bobby Xxxx

It's so heartbreaking to hear about all of the recent passings of greyhounds, but especially of one certain one, Mr Guinness who I always loved hearing stories about from Shirley and Richard. He couldn't have asked for a better home with them and I'm sure he knew that too, they loved him so dearly and he wanted for nothing with them. Will miss seeing his handsome grey face. My thoughts are with Cello and Millie too who have lost a big part of their pack today.. run free Mr G xxxxxxx
