We are so very sad to read that dear Guinness aka Mr G has gone to rainbow bridge today. I know how much he meant to you but what a wonderful life he had. Our heart felt condolences go out to you both,we know how you feel. Yet another bright star shining tonight xx

Fly fast and free Bert and Guinness. There will be much sadness for the families you have left behind but it’s a pretty sure fire thing that given your great ages, you will have left your hoomans with many happy memories. Lynne & Simon, Shirley & Richard you should be proud of the life you gave these boys. Thinking of you all as you come to terms with life without these two xxxx

I am just so saddened to hear the sad news about Bert and Guinness, I hope that your boys are running fast and free together with all our other fur babies at the bridge. My thoughts are with you all, they were both a great age but I know it doesn't make their loss any easier, take care xxxxx

Sorry, but more sad news. This morning we had to say goodbye to Guinness. He wasn't a Daybreak's hound but lots of people knew him and I think he had become an honorary member of the Daybreaks family. He had enjoyed his food, walks and cuddles right up till the last couple of days and even spent last Tuesday at the kennels enjoying the company of six other hounds, but at nearly 13 his body decided it had had enough. RIP old boy.

This morning I have been mainly eating rabbit and sheep poop! Mom was not too happy and shortened my lead so I couldn’t get my head down.... saw some of those large greyhounds that humans ride and they had lovely mini versions that made mom aaaaahhhhhhh! Lubs to all Florence xxx

I'm sorry to add to the sad news, but we had to say goodbye to our gorgeous Bert in the early hours of this morning. He wasn't rehomed from Daybreaks as we got. from Peterborough when we lived there. We feel like Daybreaks was his family as much as Skip and Sam's. He was over 13 and we didn't expect to see 11. He had far more than 9 lives. In the end his body just gave up and he asked us to let him go. It was all very peacefully done (after they did tests) at The Willows. We said goodnight then left the room as we couldn't be in there. Bert chose the night before holiday as he wouldn't have coped but still wanted us to go. So we're on our way to Dorset with Skip and Sam. x

As Angie said in her diary update yesterday, it was an emotional day but we find this makes our Daybreaks family stronger. Nervous Harry ain’t so nervous when his ‘girlfriend ‘ is around!!!! Momma and Harry have got love hearts for eyes and they prance around each other when they are allowed for to meet for brief moments as Harry is yet to be neutered and Momma is in season!!!!! Saying goodbye to Charlotte and Stanley our Friday students was sad but this pair are back in September. They have flourished in their placement and their true compassion for the dogs is clear. They gave us a lovely photo frame with 6 pics of ex inmates and it has pride of place on our desk. It really is the people and the dogs that make it a great place to be. I love Daybreaks x
