Bocko walked really well on his lead this afternoon. He is a friendly boy who enjoys having his ears rubbed.and I think he will a super pet for some lucky family. Xxx

I completely agree with Kate - if you have 1 greyhound you can fit in another (and then a 3rd in our case!) December 2010 to June 2018 with just Bert then we added Skip. Then earlier this month we brought baby Sam home for 2 days and he never went back. They are all very different and bring their own dynamics to the family but I wouldn't change a thing. Anyone thinking of a 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc, just do it 🙂 - or 1st of course. Wish us luck in the caravan next week with our 3. First outing in a tow caravan and have no idea what the sleeping arrangements will turn out to be! Hopefully Skip will sleep beyond 5.15 if he's close to us.

Had the pleasure of taking Eric to the Sheldon Park walk on Sunday. He was so well behaved and I had no problem getting him in and out of the car. He was excited to be out and about and enjoyed looking around so much that he just wanted to walk and walk and sniff and walk. He's big and was strong on the lead to start with but settled into a good walking pace. He is clever, deciding to have a short rest to re-energise half way round. Returned to kennels for a big drink, a long rest but hopefully for him a short stay.

Little Miss Tigger had surgery on her leg yesterday to straighten it. It was a nerve wracking day but when we collected her at 6.30pm she was already up and about and trying to weight bear!! Our big challenge will be keeping her still but today she has been golden and has lay in the office and been so brave.

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Diary for yesterday!... Norman took Robbie to the park for a change of scene 🙂 He was quite keen on the small fluffies he met and will need some help socialising with them. He loves people and was very good with a young child he met. Xx We had several dogs in the doggie kitchen today, all black apart from Lyra who is black but spotty! They all got on so well together and we managed to find enough beds for everyone. All beautiful! :)) If you have one Greyhound it's very easy to fit in another! X We have reinstated our donation table at the kennels. We have so many nice items given to us, it's a shame not to have somewhere we can display them and help raise funds for the kennels. Ruth got Richard and Declan moving cupboards and sorting a roof covering! We did have to put in a complaint a couple of times as their handy work was very noisy and was putting the dogs off their dinner! :)) We are always very grateful for anything you think would be suitable. Xxx Thanks so much to everyone for their help today...Declan braved the nettles and Blackberry bushes to search for Louis's ball that was lost on Saturday, he found it! Sure Sara must have helped him! :)) Xxx

Again maybe his genes making him a little nervous and stressed, Jato is a real nervous Nellie, Breeze was a little better - when he is settled and finds a home try a thunder shirt worked for both girls. Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Handsome Willis went to the vets first thing for his neutering operation. He was a good boy in the car although he didn't want to get in at first! He was quite bright when I collected him this afternoon and he ate all of his dinner when we got back. 🙂 x Bob and Gloria collected two boys for us this morning, Harry and Bocko. They are both a little stressed in their new surroundings at the moment and having just checked the cameras they are both sleeping on the floor! They are maybe used to different types of bedding. Sure it won't be long before they feel more at home. 🙂 Two of our work experience students finished their time with us today. Sam and Willow thank you both for all your help over the last 12 months. Wishing you both every success for the future. Barney came into see us tonight and he met new lad Harry...they got on great together. We just need to convince Barenys Mom they need another Greyhound!, :)) Thanks so much to everyone for their help today. :)) Xxx

He looks lovely - but having looked at his pedigree I noticed his paternal granddad is my Jatos dad and his maternal grandad is our Breeze’s dad so he may well be the most loving - daft, mad, crazy houndie !! Good luck to whom ever he chooses!!!!xxx
