    I’m Homed

I had the pleasure of taking the lovely Bolt on the sheldon country park walk yesterday. He behaved very well, despite being slightly interested in the small fluffies at first he responded very well to a firm no when he went to pull on the lead and for the rest of the walk I did not have a peep out of him regarding other dogs, even when a spaniel ran right across his path. He really loved being out and about with all the sights and smells, and he even enjoyed a nice lay down at the end of the walk where he was approached by a few people who wanted to fuss him, one of which a young girl who he lapped fuss off. He's quite a bouncy boy at times and as a large boy definitely does have some strength behind him so would probably suit older children rather than young but I have no doubt he would make a great addition to a family and would be an absolute fusspot. xx

    I’m Homed

We took Honey out to the Sheldon country park walk today. She got into and out of the car by herself and travelled really well. Although she did pull on the lead a bit, it wasn't too hard and she was easy to control. We saw a few other breeds of dog too... She wasn't interested in any of the larger dogs and although she did show an interest in smaller breeds she didn't react aggressively and was easy to move on even when a couple of off lead ones did get quite close. She is a real beauty and with a bit of patience and training will make a greyt pet.

    I’m Homed

Thanks so very much to everyone who came and took a kennel dog on the Sheldon Country Park walk. Nearly all dogs went, apart from the post op dogs and Buster and Dan. Buster and Dan both had a great time blasting around the sand run and playing with the toys. Eric decided halfway around the park that he needed a 5 minute break and just lay down! All came back and had a good rest before they went on a short walk up the lane this afternoon. Soon time for dinner and they all settled down for the night. Happy dogs! As a result of today's walk we had a viewing, the family went away to think things over. I had a call later.....they decided to reserve Willis (were looking for a small dog and have chosen probably the biggest at the kennels at the moment)! Two new arrivals tomorrow, a vet run and two of our lovely placement students have their last day with us. Here's hoping for a good week ahead. Thanks again for everyone's help today.

Rosie came to Sheldon Country Park with me today. She travelled well and enjoyed her walk. She's a real leaner and very affectionate. She was absolutely shattered by the time I got her back to the kennels. Bless her! X

    I’m Homed

Two of our beautiful girls went home today, Sara and Susie, both of them were very happy to go home with their new families. 🙂 Wishing them lots of happiness. Xx Jess had several customers for a pamper and nail trimming and we had visitors to the kennels to buy food. Steve, Sara's Dad popped in with Louis. He and Louis met little Sara as she was just about to go home. 🙂 Louis left the kennels a little disappointed as Steve managed to throw his ball over the fence in the sand run. Louis, we promise to try and find it for you! 🙂 It was very quiet for viewings for our lovely lads and lasses waiting for their forever homes. 🙁 Please if you are thinking of offering a home to a dog, please consider a Greyhound they are fantastic! Xxx Our last customer for the sand run this afternoon was a gorgeous tiny Italian Greyhound puppy! It was amazing watching him run around. Most of the toys were bigger than he was. :)) He came into the kennels afterwards. The look on Eric's face was priceless, he wasn't sure what to make of him at all. :)) Thanks so much for everyone's help today. Happy Birthday to Jess for yesterday! Xxx Xxx

A big cuddle for little Sara tonight. She was so very, very excited to be going home! We couldn't keep her still when it was homing photo time. :)) She has a gorgeous Greyhound sister to share her life with and I'm sure they are going to get along just fine. :)) Despite all Sara has been through and indeed may still face an operation on her leg she is such a happy, friendly girl. She wanted to jump into the boot of the car and we had to stop her...she is a very brave and determined girl just like our lovely Sara who she was named after. Lots of love to her and her new family. Xxx

Hello everybody, it’s been a while! Thought I’d give you some updates. Well what have I been up to? Not much. I have been doing some recycling though. Mummy brought a new magazine so I decided to shred it apart as she already read it so I thought I was being helpful. Not sure how happy she was... A few squirrels have being appearing in my garden. So I love to chase them down the garden and try to follow them up the gate. Unfortunately I can’t reach the top so I just have to stare at them. It’s better than nothing I suppose. (I heard my humans just mention squirrels so I came running down the stairs going mad. False alarm)! Today I have decided that it is make a toy mess day! So if you don’t know what this is, you have to go mental with every single toy! Everywhere my hoomans go they end up stepping on a squeak. Oops... Barney Xx

    I’m Homed

So I am just finishing getting dressed this morning when TC says “we’re a bit short on dogs”. Quick as a greyhound I respond “No problem,I’ll give Daybreaks a call and arrange to pick some up”. “Florence” I call, she comes running into the bedroom “TC says you can have some brothers and sisters, I’ll call Auntie Kate and we’ll go get 2 boys and a girl”. “That’s not what I meant” says TC......... well I tried!!! Xxxx
