2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Ok - who stole the sunshine?!?!? It was raining & cold this morning so it was coats on, then the sun came out and it went quite warm so it was coats off, then it clouded over and went quite chilly so it was coats on again!! We just cant get a settled spell of weather can we? It was another quiet day at Daybreaks, the highlight being handsome Jordan going off to his new home this morning. Wishing him and his new family many happy years ahead. Eric & Honey G are sharing the kitchen kennel & run, and they make such a gorgeous couple. Despite there being 5 beds in total for them to use, at one point they were both sharing the same one, lying cuddled up together with Eric's leg lying gently over Honey G's leg - oh so cute!! As we left tonight they had separated and were on a bed each, with Eric lying upside down with his legs in the air snoring quietly!! I have taken a photo and will get Michael to put it on Facebook later. For all you Treaty fans out there - Jo took a phone call from his Mum this morning and she reports that he is doing brilliantly. He goes everywhere with them, and can be found mostly upside down with his legs in the air! He has a lovely new name too - Shadow. I know he had a special place in many peoples hearts, so it is great to be able to pass on such good news. Well the weekend is on us again and it is a busy one. We have roadshows at Melbicks on both Saturday & Sunday, and the Sheldon Country Park walk on Sunday - lets hope the weather improves! Thanks for everyone's help today. I will make my usual Friday wish (accompanied by a glass or two of wine) for homes for our beautiful boys & girls. Have a lovely weekend one and all. Angie xx

Saturday 1st June Hi guys.. Mell Square Roadshow time again.... I need volunteers with there pet greyhounds to do 3hr shifts (from 9am until 4pm). If interested please message me Lisa. 07985 164493. Dogs need to be friendly with small dogs and children. Thanks

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Yesterday's Daily Diary...a bit late! We had several visits to the vet including taking Robbie and Bell for their neutering ops. Both had lovely teeth so didn't need any dental work. :)) Robbie was very interested in a small fluffy dog in the reception area when we went to collect him. He is a very people friendly lad but will need a little help understanding small fluffies. 🙂 We had visits from two previous inmates today. Myra and Alan brought Ashley in to have his nails trimmed and go on a couple of walks with the other dogs. He is still a very handsome lad and obviously adores his Mom and Dad. Xx Teddy also came to visit us. He was a very stressful lad when he first came to the kennels and sadly had to have a toe amputated during his time with us. The beautiful, shiny black, handsome boy who trotted into the kennels today was wonderful to see! He came to say "Adios Amigos" as he and his lovely family will soon be going to live in Spain. Wishing them all lots of happiness in their new home. :)) x Richard and Declan were busy with repairs to the kennels, again :)) This time they were taking rotten wood down from by the gate. We are so grateful to everyone who gives up their spare time to help us either with the dogs or the kennels. Don't know what we would do without you all. :)) Thank you. Xx Kate Xxx

Happy 11th birthday to our big beautiful Dexter, he started off the day in typical Dexter style, grumbling at 5am to go outside, then just stood there for a while, turned around and came back inside (didn't do a wee), he is still so handsome, still a grump but we love him to bits.
