I took Sara to Worcester yesterday for her CT scan which shows fragments of bone from her ulnar by her shoulder joint. This is due to an old injury and would explain why she is so tender and lame. Chris at Fivelands is going to decide whether to operate or not as surgery so close to her joint is risky. It may be that long term pain relief is the best course of action. I took her home and she has been absolutely golden here. She is off to her new home on Saturday and she will be a perfect pet. Such a shame she ended up as a stray and the Greyhound Board are investigating this.

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

What a lovely day! This morning we had volunteers from HSBC as well as our Wednesday morning walkers. The dogs all enjoyed going out in the dry! Thanks to our HSBC volunteers, we had them walking, grooming, health checking and feeding. They said that they really enjoyed the day and will come back and recommend the day to their colleagues. This afternoon we had more people come in to help, so many that in addition to walking dog's some even went out on the walk without a dog! Everyone else stayed and groomed lots of dogs, Eric and Honey G in particular loved it. I don't think I have ever seen so many people on a Wednesday, it was fantastic, I hope it continues! Thanks so much everyone for your help, it is really appreciated. I will now steal Angies sign off and go and have a glass of wine (or a few)! X

Willis is a super lad, very big and lots of him to hug! He can be a little shy when he first meets you but soon comes up for a cuddle. Sounds like he had quite an adventure in the park. :)) Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

What a beautiful day. Everyone enjoyed their walks today. :)) Richard and Declan were kept busy putting a new blind up on the kitchen run. It is great to keep Eric and Honey G cool. 🙂 They also painted Charlie's bench and the bench in the remembrance garden. Thanks both. Xx Many thanks to Jess for taking gorgeous Willis for his first trip to the park. He had a great time and was such a good boy. X Lucy and I took Susie to the vet this afternoon for her post op check up. She will hopefully be going home very soon. Lucy's little girl Ellie also had an appointment as she hasn't been too well recently. Xxx As I was getting ready to go home tonight I heard a rustling in one of the runs...I discovered Bobby had found a packet of Dentastix and was buisily trying to open them! Standing next to him was a very expectant Skip!! I didn't have the heart to take them off him, well he does have such a cute face. :)) So I helped open the packet!! :))) Told him he would have to pay for them with his pocket money! Thanks so much to everyone for your help today. Xxx Xxx

Willis enjoyed a little adventure to Elmdon Park. He was very well behaved, a little bewildered by the whole experience. We said hello to lots of dogs, had a paddle in the stream and even got chased by some geese!! I’m sure this big lad won’t be at the kennels for long !

So very sorry you’ve had to say goodbye to your lovely Jaylo. What a fantastic age she reached and what a wonderful retirement. I’m sure she will be very much missed as reading back through the comments she was a larger than life character in her younger days. Go and run free Jaylo with all our old friends who have gone before you to rainbow bridge. I’m sure our Lola will say hi if you bump into her xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

We had two new arrivals this afternoon, Honey G and Bell. They are both lovely, happy girls. 🙂 It was a quiet day so we were able to catch up on some long standing jobs such as the bedding store! Thanks to Dave for tackling the duvets! :)) Ruth will be taking little Sara for her CT Scan tomorrow. She is an absolute sweetheart. We hope all can be sorted out for her so she can move on from her past experiences and start her new life. Xxx
