So very sorry to read this Sophie. We are sure she had 7 most fabulous years with you and your family. It’s just the saddest, most heartbreaking thing when we have to say goodbye. Paul and I remember so well talking to you in Solihull before you had your first hound. How those years have flown by. I’m sure you will miss Sadie very much but she’ll always be with you in your hearts and in your memories. Much love, Linda, Paul, Lena & Peggy xxxx

Our 2nd hound Peg suffered terrible separation anxiety even though she had the lazy big brother Shaun, perseverance, time, patience and the wonderful help we received from the Kennels and our home checker Lynn Bibb worked wonders for her and allowed her to blossom into the cheeky little girl she is today. Don’t get me wrong it’s not a quick fix, it took Peg over 6 months to settle but so worth it ?? Sam you will be fine trust me, your time will come and you too will blossom xxxxxxx

    I’m Homed

It's been a steady day at Daybreaks so far..... all the inmates were cleaned, walked and spent time in the sand run and then a treat of a Pawseco dog ice!!! Some were not impressed.... We still have Buster here whose owner was taken into hospital so he has had some extra TLC as he has been stressing. We've had a few visitors to use the sand run - it is great that a large part of the run is shady. Rose came to visit for a nail trim and corn removal. I spent some time clearing the pine cones and twigs from the sand run - a job that we rarely get round to - I am sure Sara will be looking down and saying 'about time too' as she hated the twigs getting stuck in Louis fur and she used to spend ages using the rake some days. Bob, witnessed by Roger, drew the winning tickets for our Easter Raffle - the winning numbers are as follows: 1st 356 (Alan and Myra) 2nd 459 (Susie P) 3rd 341 (Julia) 4th 355 (Andy) - promise this wasn't a fix!!!! 5th 423 (Aaron) 6th 463 (Mel) There are some winners we haven't been successful in reaching by the number on the ticket so if you are one of our winners, please give us a yell! With all the goodies - hot cross buns, chocolate, a massive cake (donated by Blue's new owners) and mini eggs aplenty I guess being good starts next week!!! Happy Easter everyone from all at Daybreaks xxxx

Happy Easter to all greys and the hoomans that look after us. Hope all dogs in the kennels get their forever home. Let’s hope the Easter Bunny comes to us. So yesterday my hoomans decided to take me to that horrible caravan again we all know what happened last time. I hated it but this time it wasn’t so bad. My hoomans are very proud of me and they said I was a lot better than last time. I got on well with my Labrador friends but they can be very annoying at times. I’ve go a lovely Easter egg! I’m sure it won’t last long. If I have the chance I will eat it all. I’m not allowed unfortunately. I’ve also got a cute bunny toy for Easter as well I love it! Have a greyt day! Love Barney Xx

A beautiful day...even a little too warm! We had to get the cool coats out for the afternoon walks. 🙂 Ruth had the pleasure of homing Blue. His new family are so nice and are the Aunt and Uncle to our lovely volunteer Stacy...we insisted she join in the homing photo! Wishing Blue a very happy new life. Xxx Westy is continuing to improve. He seemed a lot brighter today and was able to go on walks. He really is a super lad. I'm sure a new home would really cheer him up and speed his recovery. Xx Shirley and Richard popped in with Cara today. She was a very happy young lady. Xxx Great to see Queenie reserved. She just has to meet her prospective new Greyhound brother...do hope they like each other! Xxx Sara's Dad came to see us this morning and brought Louis with him. Louis spent sometime doing his favourite pastime "cat watching!" Sure he was a little disappointed because they were both out in the run enjoying the sunshine! We took him in the sand run for a play with his ball, which I managed to throw over the fence! Fortunately I found it...I can hear Sara now saying "Well, that wasn't much good was it!" Xxxxx Thanks so much to everyone for their help today. Xxx Wishing you all a very happy Easter, hope some of our lovely Greyhounds find homes and the Easter Bunny brings you lots of goodies for you and your dogs. We have our Easter raffle draw tomorrow, good luck! :)) Xxx
