Our Diddy awakes us around 4.30 5am every morn. I’m an early riser so no probs as he just likes to be cuddled.first night I slept downstairs for him but he went upstairs with Pete.left me like a lemon!! He won’t even try stairs.he stays down with Ellie but we hear his lovely calling at stated times. Just to say he is 1 of 4. Sometimes u have to adapt to THEIR needs. Best of luck but remember we are thereto see to their needs. If we could take 5 we would.love to all owners Jackie

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

It was quiet at the kennels today. Think the good weather has persusded people to go out and make the most of the sunshine. :)) Angie and Michael took Buster (Overdale Smith) out for the day. He had a lovely break from the kennels. We are hoping his owner will soon be well enough to take Buster home. He is missing his Dad. Xx The sand run was very busy this morning, great to meet so many dogs of different shapes and sizes! :)) Westy is doing ok. He is eating well and went out for walks today. He also met our cats...sadly he is not cat friendly. 🙁 Sam is finding kennel life very stressful at the moment. Dave took him for a race around in the sand run. It did help him to settle. Xx Myra and Alan collected their Easter chocolate hamper they won on the raffle. Alan had given up choclalte for Lent...he can now make up for all those lost calories! :)) Thanks so much to everyone who bought a ticket. Thanks also for your generosity in donating lots of tins of fish and dog food over the Easter period. We are very grateful. Many thanks to those who have made a donation in Sara's name. Xxxxxx Xxx

Just a quick update about Cara. She is still being a good girl, clean in the house and has been fine with our three, both over night and when left for a short time while we have been out. So much so that we have put the cage away. She is settling into living in a home well. One thing she does do, is to wake us quite early in the morning, but we think that this is because she is getting used to a lot of new noises, so it should be something she will get used to. I think she should into home life well and since she is a little dot wont take up a lot of room. Another check at the vets tomorrow on her tail so will report back on that tomorrow.

It is with great sadness I have to tell of the passing of Bo, on the road to the Bridge. We have spent a wonderful weekend camping at Cannock Chase, it was doggie heaven! We had a walk yesterday morning, just Bo, Amber and I before breakfast. The dogs were loving the running through the trees. We came back to the tent and Bo was fine but breathing heavily but the weather was warming up.... He ate and drank but was moaning and labouring every breath.... I phoned a local vet, I was getting concerned now and they said to take him for a check up. On arrival at the clinic Bo was checked by a veterinary nurse before the vet came in. Both could find nothing wrong except for a painful spot half way down his back so it was assumed he was in pain and this was why he was breathing heavy. His temperature was fine, his pulse was good, his heart was fine and there was no signs of anything else..... He was given two injections and I ws told to keep an eye on him. We returned to the campsite, he was getting worse so I took him for a slow stroll in the trees where there was a slight breeze and it was cooler. He decided he wanted back to the camp so we turned round back to the tent. On getting back to the tent his legs gave away, his tongue went blue and he had bubbles in his mouth, I cuddled him as he went. We are in shock as to how quickly it all happened and poor Amber is really struggling. RIP Bo, we will meet again at the bridge xxx I hope you meet up with Jay xx
