Jetlucy I’m so sorry you lost your Vinnue in such tragic circumstances. You are so right that we must treasure our fur babies. Our time with them flies by in the blink of an eye. I hope Jet and the others gradually recover and you of course. Your memories of Vinnie will stay with you xx

Buster

Buster is so funny! I went into his kennels to get him ready for his afternoon walk and he kept rolling around on his bed, playing, making it hard to put his collar on! I eventually got him ready and he spotted a ball in with Eric in the kitchen run. Despite the ball being the other side of the bars AND Buster having a muzzle on, he was determined to have it much to our amusement - and Eric's! I got him to the gate but he decided to do a "greypole" round the little tree to get back to where the ball was. Fortunately I unravelled myself without any mishap and got on our way for the walk. He was a delight to walk. Liked being at the end of the lead but no pulling. He lunged a little when he saw a moving plastic bag! Then saw some plastic on the roof of a building which he was interested in. Our Bert was the same when we first got him, but soon got used to these odd things. A lovely boy who deserves his forever home. Good luck Buster. x

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

What a strange day today! No Angie as she is off galevanting, hope she and Mike have a lovely couple of days. So you have me reporting on our Friday. It was very quiet to start with, only Dave who kindly volunteered to come in and help and myself. We were very relieved when we had reinforcements arrive which meant that in between showers all residents had morning and afternoon walks. Thanks so much to everyone who came in, it really is appreciated. It was lovely to see Skip today, he is looking great. Lorna had a couple of pamper sessions booked this morning, so if you would like to book this fab service for your hound, grey or non grey please give us a call. Nobody used the sand run today, apart from resident Eric, he had a blast. Again this is totally secure and fantastic to give your dog/s a good run or to use for training and even for doggy playdates and parties! Hoping that we have more reservations and homings next week. Have a greyt weekend every one. On a sombre note, just a reminder that is our lovely Sara's funeral on Tuesday, at 11.30 at Yardley Crematorium. She will be and is very sadly missed. So as Angie is not here to write this, I will have to say (as she normally does) I am going to have a nice glass of wine or a few. Jo x

We sadly lost our beautiful cat vinnie on Wednesday to the evil dual carriageway (which is ages from our house as we are surrounded by about 100 acres of fields but something tempts them over it as we lost his brother 2 years ago to it) . He was jets best friend having had him as a feral 8 week old kitten he grew up and adored jet and they followed each other everywhere at home. Our hearts are broken beyond words as we worshipped him and jet and the other 4 are feeling it too. Only writing this to say please treasure every moment with your babies, they are so so precious and not with us long enough. RIP our beautiful vinnie, god bless and hope you're having the most amazing life over rainbow bridge. Love u with all our hearts xxxxxx

WARNING.. STRONG WINDS TONIGHT IN WEST MIDLANDS As you may or may not be aware we are due to be hit by major winds in the Midlands. Please please check your fences before you let your dogs out into the garden. Best to be safe than sorry.

we had a lovely follow up check yesterday. Raven has settled really well ,gets on so well with skye his whippet brother. Raven looks good and gave us lots of kisses. Raven had problems sharing ,but since being in his new home he plays in the garden with skye no aruments, they really love each other. It was a pleasure to see them togerther. 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

It was a very busy morning, first Pearl went home followed by Westy who is now known as Jet. 🙂 Wishing them and their respective new families lots of happy times together. Xx Queenie was due to go and have her neutering operation today but came into season this morning! So it was Jordan's "lucky" day instead!! He was such a good boy at the vets when he met a big fluffy dog :)) he was a bouncy boy when we picked him up this evening, Thanks to Alan and Lucy for going the warehouse run this morning. Poor Richard had terrible toothache and had to go see his Dentist...Lucy and I did volunteer to carry out dental work on him, but her turned us down!! We had lots of extra cakes today! Yvonne our lovely volunteer celebrated her 80th Birthday, sending her lots of love and thank you for coming in this morning to clean as usual. :)) Norman took Westy to the park for us this morning . He was s very good boy and found himself homed on his return to the kennels. 🙂 Thanks so much to Myra and Dave for cleaning up the run this week. Sara would have been so impressed. Xx Xxx
