Hector
I’m Homed
So we've got the lovely Hector with us for a few days. He was a bit anxious yesterday and not sure what was going on for the first few hours but settled by the evening and has been very happy since. He absolutely LOVES his fuss and being scratched under his chin is obviously ecstasy for him! He loves playing with toys too. He's been really good out on walks and he and our 3 greys have got on fine with no problems eating or being next to each other so he doesn't need to be an only dog. He has sleep startle so if there are children in the house, they'd need to understand not to touch him if he's asleep but apart from that, he would be a great addition to any house. And he's still only 7 and gorgeous so please don't overlook him! Xx

We had a visit from Rocky and his Mom today! He looks fab and is very happy :)) He has a big field to run around in as much as he likes and doesn't see many bicycles :))) Daisy also popped in with her foster Mom and Dad this morning. She hasn't been feeling very well after her neutering operation and dental on Thursday. I had a photo sent to me this afternoon of a lovely empty bowl....she has eaten her dinner! :)) We had lots of visitors popping in today, nearly everyone fell in love with Mikey. He was in the kitchen run and was happy to greet everyone including his litter sister Maddie! It was great to see Cadbury again. Xx Thanks so much to to everyone who helped out today. The weather was good and all the dogs enjoyed their walks. Xx When we were getting ready to go home this evening, Lucy discovered Ellie's fleece was missing. We narrowed it down to being on one of the dogs in the kennels. :)) We finally found it on Annie who had great fun dancing around her kennel while we were trying to retrieve it and swap it with another!! Xx Plesase don't forget to have a go on our Easter Rafle, lots of chocolate to be won!! :)) Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
What a glorious day today - just like Spring! The lovely sunshine meant the boys & girls could dispense with their coats and Ruth had a lovely time on her hands & knees doing some grooming this morning. We tied Jo to the computer for most of the day getting our volunteer database up to date - I did keep supplying coffee to keep her going!! Quiet for visitors but we had that many volunteers, and so few dogs, that the afternoon walks had to be done in shifts to ensure everyone got a turn!! This morning saw the lovely Hector off to a foster home for a few days to try and cheer him up a bit. He has been eating well, but obviously bemused and not happy at being back in a kennel environment, so lets hope a little break will help him and that we can get him into a new home as soon as possible. He is a lovely fella. Glad to say that Mikey is also eating much better now, and really enjoyed all the extra TLC and cuddles he received today from all the volunteers! Mr Treaty was his usual lovely, happy self, and was lapping up the attention he received from our students. They absolutely love him, and I think the feeling is mutual, and it was great that we were all able to have some quality time with the dogs today. Spring had definitely sprung this afternoon as we embarked on a major spring clean outside, emptying and moving plant pots in readiness for some new bedding plants, scrubbing the newly revealed areas and sweeping round everywhere. After a long and dreary Winter, it felt good to get stuck in and start preparing for the coming Spring. Thank you to everyone who came along to help today, much appreciated as always. Another weekend is upon us, I cant believe how fast the time is flying by. I am raising a glass (of course!) and hoping that some red signs appear for some of our residents. Have a lovely weekend one and all. Cheers! Angie xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Daisy went for her neutering operation today. Poor little Lass had to have some teeth removed too. She was rather uncomfortable when we picked her up this afternoon. She has been taken home for a few days to recuperate by a lovely foster family. :)) Xx Sad news for Hector and his owner. Thinking of them both and hoping a new home can be found for him soon. X Thanks to Chuckle Brothers, Alan and Richard for going on the warehouse run, they took Lucy with them today to make sure they didn't forget anything! :)) Ruth tried so hard to get all the outstanding paperwork completed today....but it's never ending and there is always something needing doing at the kennels. Lucy gave Tig a bath this afternoon, Ruth commented it was the quietest she has ever seen her! 🙂 Momma was goimg to have a bath too but she was a little too nervous. Xx Thanks so much to everyone for all their help today. Thanks Alan for the Thursday donuts! :)) Xxx

Auntie Kate, my physio cane today and says I’m allowed to go to the beach once a week, yeh! and I can also go on longer walks but I have to start walking up hills to strengthen my muscles. Mom says that’s a job for TC! Sending lots of love to Hector. Florence xx

Oh no. Poor Hector. If you're still in kennels on Sunday I'll say hello and maybe see you on the morning walk. 8 is still young enough for you to settle into a new family and have years and years of happy times with them. x

Ah, Daisy. I'm SO happy you're being fostered. I haven't stopped thinking about you since I walked you on Sunday. I was looking forward to seeing/walking you this Sunday when we come to the kennels but this is much better for you. Your foster parents will either fail (fingers crossed) or they can at least report on your needs in a home. If I could have fostered or adopted you I would have done. Good luck sweetheart. x
