I took Ares home last night on short term foster. I really didn't know I had him, he settled straight away. Last night he decided to stay downstairs when we went to bed, not a sound from him. I got up around 3.30 to check in him and he had come upstairs and was lying by the bedroom door. He has investigated everywhere and has discovered the sofa already!! He is so very well behaved. He has come with me to the kennels today and has spent most of the day chilled out and relaxed. He also travels really well in the car. He really is a super lad and very affectionate, we desperately want to get him into his a forever home. If you would like to view him or get any more information about him, please give the kennels a call and I will be more than happy to bring him in and answer any questions you may have. If I was able to I would have him I would in a heartbeat, but I am unfortunately not in a position to do so. 🙁

Ares came back to the kennels this morning and went straight out to foster. What a very handsome and lovely lad he is. His owner was distraught to have to return him. 🙁 He is a very friendly lad who loved meeting all the other Greyhounds...the girls were especially interested in meeting him, can't blame them he is stunning! It's obvious how well he has been loved and looked after. Our thoughts are with his family, such a hard decision to make. Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Thankfully Thena was feeling a lot better today 🙂 I kept checking her on the cameras last night...everytime I looked she was in a different position, even lying on the floor a couple of times! :(( She is such a cute little thing and her kennel mate Annie adores her. Xx Torc pulled the dressing off his tail yet again! So sadly tonight he has to wear his muzzle. He is a lovely lad very gentle and loves lots of cuddles. Xx Richard fixed the Summer House this morning with the help of Declan. Thanks so much. Xx Sam had a lovely trip to the park with Norman and was a very good boy! :)) Do hope he won't have to wait too much longer for his forever home. x Rocky has gone home with Michelle and Roy for a few more days. I am sure he will have lots of fun! 🙂 Thanks to everyone for all their help today. So many nice people! :))) Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Well jet was very excited that it was pancake day as that meant he got his own (although had to share abit with one of his cat brothers, but hes been poorly recently so jet didn't grumble too much) with a bit of ice cream! He doesn't miss a trick when it comes to food! Xxx

Pleased to see ares has a foster home the poor chap. Hope you settle ok and get your forever home soon. Like I've said before i think i suffer with separation anxiety so can sympathise with how these boys and girls feel! Xxx

So lovely to meet you today you gorgeous boy. You were so good and calm taking everything in your stride. I am sure you will enjoy the next couple of weeks in your temporary foster care and maybe you will get to meet my boys and have a day out if you have not been snapped up. There will be someone or a couple out there who are retired and around a lot of the time who would suit a mature calm boy like yourself.......we just have to find them for you. From the sound of things your separation anxiety could be managed but you need to be in the right environment with the right people who have the time and experience. At least your previous family did the right thing in returning you to the care of Daybreaks. Thank god they did not follow their vet's advice. That just makes my blood run cold. Keep your chin up....everyone will do their utmost to help you. Keep calm and tomorrow is another new day full of hope. Xxx

"Happy Sam" loved his 1st visit to Brueon Park. Although very excited he loved meeting all sorts of breeds with no aggression. He will suit family with active lifestyle

Stanley is thankfully doing ok after having 16 teeth removed and then emergency re-admission. Post-op yesterday ok. Arthritis is also troubling him but seems to have got used to having the space to himself after loosing Gemma in December. Love to all humans and greys. Annaxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Thena went off to the vets this morning for her neutering operation. She has also had two teeth removed. Do hope she feels better tomorrow. Her little kennel mate Annie really missed her while she was away. Xx It was a quiet day for visitors but we had lots of lovely volunteers to help with the dogs and take them for walks. Fortunately the rain only caught them out on the last walk this afternoon. 🙂 Ruth and I had a good go at sorting some more stuff out from the back kennels. Tig did her best to help by burying herself in the duvets while Momma sat perched on top of the big pile in the kennel! Poor Torc is still having problems with his tail. It does look sore :(( Very sad to hear Ares will be coming back to the kennels. Do hope a foster home or even better a forever home will be found as soon as possible for him. Thanks so much to everyone for their help today, it was lovely to see our Barney tonight when Sam's Dad came to pick her up. 🙂 He is a handsome lad! We all thought Nerys and Barney would make a great couple, they could chew things up together! :)) Welcome to Helen who volunteered for the first time today. Think she enjoyed meeting all of our lovely Greyhounds. Thank you Helen. :)) xx Xxx
