I am so upset and shedding a tear to hear about this boy. The thought of putting him to sleep is awful. I dont know what his problems are and I doubt my circumstances are right for fostering him if he needs help as I currently have a busy schedule but if there is anything I can do to help I will. With so many experienced and perhaps retired supporters out there please God let there be someone who can help to avoid an otherwise distressing solution. We will keep him in our prayers. I have just taken a call from the distraught owner of Ares. Sadly family circumstances have changed a lot over the past couple of years which has created him to become increasingly anxious. He is being returned tomorrow and I am desperate to find this boy a foster home straight away to avoid him staying in kennels. If you think you can help, please call the kennels on 0121 782 7702. Everything has been tried by his owner and the vet suggested all different things but that maybe the kindest thing would be to PTS if we were unable to help..... His owner was understandably very upset and is desperate for us to help. Please if you have space.... he is a gorgeous gentle boy. He would suit a home where he can either have the company of a human or another dog. He is great with other dogs particularly medium to large breeds however he is not cat friendly. He is extremely clean in the house, good on the lead and excellent with children.

Tiger Pupdate! My little monster is going in to Fivelands under the expert care of Chris Lancelot tomorrow and what is done will be dependent on the x-rays. If x-rays show that the growth plates are still open, a 2cm section will be removed from her ulnar. If the growth plates are closed, the radius will be cut and rotated and an external fixator used.... she will look bionic!!!! It is a learning curve for me and I have learnt that as 80% of weight bearing occurs on the radius she will be absolutely fine losing a section out of her ulnar! I have added a photo of her with her Momma in the car today - love how Momma has her paw on her.... they are always laying on or washing each other x Wish her luck and me some sanity tomorrow!!!!

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

What a manic morning it was. Thanks to everyone for their help and to the visitors for their patience! First Cailin was homed, she has a lovely greyhound brother called Rocky (mot our current one)! This was quickly followed by our long stayer Jet, he jumped straight into the car bless him. Wishing both families long and happy times together :)) Buster was reserved pending his home check. The families little boy was unsure of the dogs to start with, but after stroking Alisons greyhound Izzy he was completely convinced and enthusiastic. Buster gave him a big kiss and they went on a walk and then all spent some time getting to know each other, Andrew the young boy seemed very excited and wanted to take him straight home. He will be visiting until Buster goes home. This afternoon was the total opposite...by 1.30 there was only Oliver and myself, so the dogs had playtime with toys in the run in the middle of the kennels. We had visitors to use the sand run, I think they all had a good run, including recently homed Frankie with some of his new doggie family. We left tonight with the hounds all warm and toastie in their beds. Hope this week is another good week. Jo x
