    I’m Homed

Another lovely sunny day and nearly all residents had a walk. Pre walkies allowed me to cuddle and play with nearly each resident. I felt sad saying goodbye to Jet but am so glad he is going to get the chance of a loving home. Be a good boy darling and sparkle like the star you are. Treaty gave me my usual wash and then some nibbles followed by playing tag with one of his toys. He so loves the one on one attention and is such a great character but is very well behaved when out on lead. Deb's was her usual lively self pushing in front of Daisy for a cuddle. They are both so lovely. Freddie is such a sweet and loving boy lapping up the cuddles. I took Calin out first and she was very calm just as she had been in her kennel waiting nicely for me to get her lead etc on. She seems fairly placid although this is the first time I have met her properly. I then took out Nerys who again in her kennel was extremely calm and a little shy. She was a little nervy and got upset when some cars came near and as I was trying to, as gently as I could, get her into a clearing she did cry. My Teddy can be skittish around loud noises and traffic so I really feel for her. It upset me that she was scared and so she gets my biggest cuddle today for being a brave girl and continuing to learn in her new surroundings. She seems very calm around people and was excellent when a toddler visited this morning so that is all positive. I just wonder whether she would flourish better in a slightly more quiet type of home away from too many cars??? She needs her confidence building up and hopefully this will happen. I shall look forward to cuddling her again. She is such a sweetheart and isn't even 3 yet. They are all so different and at the other end of the spectrum is Buster who is just such a happy chappy. I thought his tail was going to drop off from all the wagging when I went in to cuddle him. I missed Torc today so hope he recovers quickly from his op. The others had quick hellos and head rubs and seemed very content. Finally, there are some very nice chocolate yummies up for the latest raffles so everyone coming through the doors please consider buying a raffle ticket. They are only £1 a ticket and all the proceeds greatly help in one way or another. Without all the support things would be extremely difficult for the boys and girls who rely on the hoomans and all their kindness. Thank you in advance.

Our beautiful Momma Lisa is doing so well and gaining confidence - still quite wary of new people but getting used to her new life and LOVES her walks across the fields in the morning. Tigger her pup still gets away with using her as a hurdle, trampoline and cushion!!!!! I love my new 4 legged family xxxxxx

Tigger monster Pupdate! After Tig had x-rays a week ago, Chris at Fivelands has been busy building a titanium external framework in preparation for her operation to straighten her leg. Chris will give me a call and get her in within the next few weeks as her leg is becoming more deformed and already one leg measures 17 inches and the other 20 and it is feared she will start to develop problems with her shoulder. However despite the deformity, it does not stop her being a total fruitcake and she is living life to the full.... however the thought of trying to keep her quiet once she has her op is making me gulp........ ha ha! xxxx

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

It’s very nice to get a lovely greeting when I get home but Barney can get very excited with all the scratches I have over my arms and legs and quite painful. I have had a little word with him about his roughness and I hope he was listening. How different he is from the quiet shy little boy I once knew.

    I’m Homed

A really busy day for visitors! 🙂 Sad to see Freddie and Treaty unreserved, but they are fab boys and I'm sure the right home for both of them will come along. Xxx Poor Torc chewed off the end of his tail bandage last night, causing his tail to bleed again. 🙁 He is due to be neutered tomorrow so we will ask the vet to check it for him. It was a beautiful day, humans and dogs enjoyed walks in the sunshine. :)) Thank you to everyone for their help today. Willow one of our students spent as much time as she could with Jet. Several times I walked past his kennel they were cuddled up together! :)) He has been her favourite at the kennels since he arrived and fingers crossed he should be in his new home the next time she is in. We have two new girls arriving tomorrow. :)) Xxx

  • Buddy (Bolt)

    I’m Homed

This is an email from Buddy's new owners - and we have added the fabulous photo they sent.... I cannot believe it’s been a whole year since Buddy (Bolt) came home with us. He is a big dog with an even bigger character. His newest trick is when he can’t get on the sofa he goes upstairs, we wait for it, there he goes scraping the carpet to let us know he’s not happy about it !! He loves his food and ours too, a whole pizza was once pinched off dad’s plate and virtually inhaled... he’s tall, so anything on the kitchen worktop is up for grabs. However, the washing up does get done quicker now or Buddy is up at the sink licking the dinner plates clean !! He enjoys his walks and he gets very excited when it’s time to go out. He loves his toys, but we have yet to find an “indestructible” toy that Buddy doesn’t destroy in minutes, but we will keep looking!! He is an extremely loving boy and he can’t get enough fuss. He is a VERY VERY happy boy and loved VERY VERY much. There isn’t a day that he doesn’t make us smile or laugh...
