Well what a clever boy we have brought home. Kuro has just told his Dad that he needed to go out. Early night for all of us tonight, so I will once again thank everyone at Daybreaks and all the well wishers. Love to you all x

Yay so pleased for kuro and his new parents, think everyone has been waiting for this day! Tears falling at sirenmelody's comment regarding Barney, but totally agree he would want another hound to be loved and cherished by his mom and dad! Wishing you all a wonderful life together xxx

Today was lovely for homing and visitors, however, tinged with sadness for me as it is 5 years today that my first Daybreaks houndie Buzz crossed Rainbow Bridge. He was a special dog as are they all, bad had been returned in a poor state. It didn't take long for him to turn a corner, and I had three and a half wonderful years with him. He is the reason I got involved with Daybreaks, I will be forever grateful to him for this. Most of you will know I have had several more greys from here and previously from other organizations. Love you, miss you, thank you for introducing me to this wonderful place. Bless you. Xx

A little help please, when we moved we had a new sofa, it took Florence 2 weeks to 'find it' despite the fact that she always used the old one and her blanket was on it. It is huge so I have started cuddling up to her on it. After a while she started to growl, thinking I was getting too close I left her alone. Then I noticed that the growl would start if I was touching her but had stopped moving my hand. If I start stroking again the growl stops, it is not too deep. Anyone else experienced this? Currently she is upside down on said sofa, head under a cushion, woofing quietly as she dozes! Thanks in advance. Klaire xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Well....an emotional day or what? Liza was first to go out to her forever home, she didn't want to part with the yellow ball she found, do she didn't! She was quickly followed by Brandy, now sporting a new name Kuro (in Japanese this means black)! I like many of you had a little cry. We will miss him, but what a fantastic home he has got and in lovely Yorkshire no less. Thanks AliJ and family for giving this boy a home, and in time for Christmas. Well done. X Thanks to everyone for their help today, again it was very cold (thermal socks didn't help). Pretty little Maggie (Gussi) came to us the sand run, she really enjoyed it and is starting to listen to whistle training and returns when whistled, clever girl. We had visitors for nail clipping and Christmas card buying. All in all a greyt day. Xx

Hi everyone! We made it back to Leeds safely and Kuro travelled like an absolute star. He's investigated the downstairs part of the house (doesn't fancy the stairs yet). Has eaten his dinner and been out for a walk xxx

How heartbreaking for both. I am so so sorry. May there be a family or individual out there who will enjoy adopting an older lady who I am sure will give love in abundance and be so grateful to not spend too long in kennels especially in the less favourable months of the year.

Have shed a tiny tear for you & Nick. Am so delighted you will be in a home for chrimbo. I visited York last year and thought it was a fab place. Wonderful surrounding scenery. Well, my boy what can I say. I wish for you all that you would wish for yourself. Your parents sound loving and caring and I am sure Barney would be so grateful that another boy is being welcomed into his home to ease the sadness of his not being around any more. They are all individual characters with different special qualities. Ali j....I hope you have recovered nicely from your op. May you and your family be blessed for making a long journey to choose this special boy and may you all enjoy many gappy years of adventures together. After xmas perhaps you will let us all know how 'Kuro' is settling in. Fab change of name. Good luck to all of you. Seana, Melly & Teddy xxx

I was so pleased to see my dear old friend Sunny today at Stratford. I'm sure you remembered me too as you came bounding up to say hello. Your looking lovely and clearly you are very happy and much loved in your forever home. Its made my Christmas to have seen you,I remember all the fun times we had sitting in your kennel and the lovely walks we had together at Brueton park. Hope to see you again soon,lots of hugs and Paddy sends his bestest nose snuffles too xx
