2019 Daybreaks Diary!

It was really strange opening up the kennels this morning and not seeing Nick as we walked into the kennel block, wagging his tail and hearing his good morning bark, I hope his new family were treated to a Nick welcome today. Xxx Poor Stan had a shock instore this morning...Jessie was due to have her neutering op today but she has come into season so is no longer able to be neutered for a while. That meant Stan took her place and went to neutered instead! He is a lovely lad, was a little stressed in the car, but was such a good boy at the vets. He was very sore when he came back to the kennels....hope he feels better tomorrow. Xx It was great to see Ruth at the kennels today. :)) Hope she didn't over do things! Xx We now have a selection of doggy toys, treats and people presies too in the kitchen run all for a donation. I bought my three a couple of extra Christmas presents before I went home. :)) Many thanks to Richard, Alan and Declan for doing yet another trip to the tip today! The dogs got extra long walks this morning as we had a lot of volunteers:) Thanks everyone. Xxx The Memory Wall is lovely and a special way to remember those we have lost. Xxx Xxx

Ah the tree looks lovely on the photo and what a fab idea! Ffn your stories are just hilarious I love the updates! Now tbf jet never puts an ounce on and just appears pure muscle...mommy however wouldn't mind bootcamp aunty jo! Jet could help as one of the personal trainers that make you sick with their perfect figures! Xxx

Yay! Spritz you truly are AMAZING, as well as being stunningly gorgeous and I’m not surprised you have a fan club at the vets. You’re such a brave, beautiful soul and deserve nothing but oodles of love. If only we had room for 3 fur babies, but I do believe that there will be lots of families with comfy sofas/beds queuing up for you to choose them. As always my little cherub, BIG cuddles are being whisked your way XXXX

Spritz update from foster parents.... Spritz had her dressing changed today, and my goodness what a difference in just a few days. The wound has shrunk further again and is looking good, the Vet is very pleased. She has some tablets just to help her liver but things are going well. She now has quite a fan club at the Vets'! X

Well that was fun. As you know I’m known for decorating the floor and my bed with Christmas tree decorations. It’s happened again. I take them off and my sister puts them back on then I take them off again. It happened for a while until the decorations were then moved higher up the tree. Barney xx

F N Finn, after my conversation with your Mom yesterday and having a bit of a giggle at your expense and mentioning Auntie Pam D's comments regarding your weight, I think that I am going to recommend we have a greyhound boot camp at the kennels, what do you think? Please keep your answer polite!! P.s doesn't mean you get fed extra to build your strength up in anticipation of the strict regime. X

Oh dear, oh dear! In spite of knowing Auntie Pam D and mummy are doing the best thing for you I can't help but feel sorry for you Finn. I can just imagine your little face as you wait hopefully for food!! However, I'm sorry, but I can't help but have a little giggle at your posts. Fat neck Finn is distraught. He has been on his diet since Aunty Pam D came on her visit and thought I had swapped him for a overweight Labrador! and knocked his self esteem right down. I did think I could see a rib last week but alas it was a trick of the light However his collar size has gone down a hole so we where quite encouraged by this. That was until Aunty Pam came again today. Finn greeted her waiting for a compliment on his new thinner neck. Alas she knocked him back again by saying "he needs to loose more or he will have health problems in the long run" ! I had to cover his ears to prevent further degradation. As far as he is concerned he has health problems already in the form of "malnutrition" because his mom is starving him, and he is "big boned" so that makes him look bigger than he is. I feel He does have "puppy bearing" hips which is quite a draw back on a male Grey lol. So you can see we are up against it, we will however continue and he is banned from the kitchen because I cannot stand the guilt when he lies looking at me while preparing food. He was even estatic to grab a "Ryvita" and run off, now that's what I call desperate!!! lol
