2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
We had two more new arrivals this morning 🙂 The very gorgeous Gussi and the very handsome Rummy! They are both very happy and very friendly hounds. Many thanks to Alan, Richard and Sam for collecting them from the track for us and to Lucy and Gail for giving them both a lovely bath. Xx We have two more girls arriving tomorrow. :)) We had a lot of volunteers today, so all the residents had lots of extra fuss and cuddles. :)) Which of course they loved! Teddy had a lot of company in the kitchen today. He had to have a dressing on his paw overnight as he had been licking his stitches! Touch wood he hasn't bothered with them today. We had a visit from ex resident Cleo today, she came to use the run. She looks absolutely stunning and her owner adores her. :)) Very sad to see Bez (Pebble) returned to the kennels today. Understandably she was very stressed on arrival but calmed down this afternoon. She spent the day in the office and has gone home with Ruth and Andy tonight. Sure she is getting lots of love and hugs. Do hope someone will offer her a new home very soon. XX It was donut Thursday today, thanks Alan! Xx Thanks so much to everyone for their help. Xx Have to go and tidy my lounge now as thanks to Lyra it is strewn with cushions, blankets and disembowelled toys! Bless her.... Xxx

When taking a couple of new photos of Honey on tuesday it really bewildered me why this petite girl is STILL waiting for her forever home?? She had so much fun playing with the squeaky toy that she spun round and round in circles continually, we were amazed she didn't get dizzy!! She's so cute, and full of fun! She's young at 3 years old and has the most beautiful glossy black coat and soulful eyes. She's definitely on the smaller side, probably the smallest we have in at the minute, surely someone has room for Honey!??!xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Ok so apologies for no Daybreaks Diary update yesterday. I guess you were all thinking a) we had the day off and the dogs fed themselves or b) IT WAS NUTS AS USUAL!!!! Yep... option b.... after the usual feeding and cleaning and arrival of our usual Wednesday walkers, I saw Wispa off to her new home.... then we had a visit from vet students from Nottingham vet school who helped with training a visiting dog who had behavioural issues in the sand run. Health checks were done, Teddy and Brandy had their daily session in the magnotherapy unit, I took Bob to the doctors etc etc!... you get the picture!!!! Nathan our deaf volunteer and his carer cleared the back car park of leaves and loaded the van for the tip whilst Sam and and Emily our work experience students were kept extremely busy -of course it’s better to be busy than bored I say!

Poor lady, she deserves a forever home even more now at her age. At least she doesn't look it but she must be so confused. I get so upset when I see a dog returned through no fault of their own, but at the end of the day at least she is somewhere where she will be very loved until her new home can be found. Fingers crossed it will be very soon or maybe a foster mom will turn up. xx
