I would like to echo Ruth's words regarding Bob. I first met him in 2011and always enjoyed our chats as he sat in the kitchen dunking his biscuits that were always available with the cups of tea, coffee etc endlessly available. As Ruth says it's a wonderful legacy he has left knowing what Daybreaks have achieved over the the last 17 years based at the rear of Conifer Cottage. RIP Bob

On top of Ruth's words below I am extremely saddened to hear the passing of Bob. He was a true gentleman and always committed to greyhounds and the kennels at Daybreaks. I only met him a couple of times, thanks to Jo, and he was a lovely kind hearted man who respected everyone he met. He even enjoyed seeing greyhounds having their photoshoots taken in his garden by Sharron. But most of all knew what Daybreaks was all about and the team, actually family were always working hard to find loving homes for greyhounds. Rest in peace my friend, always thinking of you!

Our hearts are broken and we are devastated to announce the passing of Bob yesterday evening. He was a very proud man, generous and kind to the end. Fiercely protective of those he loved and the amount of friends he has is a true reflection of a very much loved and respected man. We are going to miss him immensely - the world has been blessed with a true gent. I met Bob 17 years ago when I was put in touch with him and asked him if I could rent his existing racing kennels to set up Daybreaks. At the start, Bob was the ‘landlord’. Over the years he became not only a great friend but a father figure, even walking me down the aisle in 2020. Because of Bob, Daybreaks has allowed me to help find over 3,400 homes for greyhounds and created an enormous family of volunteers which has lead to our ever growing Daybreaks family. This is a true legacy to Bob. Greyhounds were his life - a true passion and he had his first greyhound at the age of 12. Bob has touched all of our lives beyond measure and I cannot imagine life without him. Sleep tight Bob. You will be in my heart forever and may your star shine bright.
