Thanks so very much to all our volunteers today, dogs had morning and afternoon walks. Richard came in with Shirley, he painted the kitchen doors and floor, Shirley got stuck in with feeding and walking. We saw Roary finally get a home, so very happy for him. X Olive was also reserved, quick work girlie. We just need to get forever homes for our Mr Nick, Teddy and Brandy, they have waited for such a long time. Please dont be put off by the big black boys, they have just as much love to give.

Fisher (Roary)
I’m Homed
Oh wow! I am so happy for Roary, he was so so lovely when I saw him at the kennels a couple of times, have a happy long life in Bristol sweet boy. The one thing that would have me shouting with joy now would be for NICK to have the same luck. He must have survived that awful accident for a reason and fought his way back to health with the care Daybreaks gave him.A special person out there must have been selected by the Greyhound Guardian Angel to give and receive the love this boy could bring into their life. Please Please let him race into your heart. x

Honey
I’m Homed
Our love affair with Honey started on Sunday when we took her to the dog show. Her behaviour was impeccable and made our 2 other greyhound look like crazy hounds! She met lots of other breeds and although she was interested, she didn't pull or bark or show any aggression. Honey wasn't fazed by lots of people and is a confident hound. We then took her home to foster her considering she became unreserved the same day and wanted her to experience home life. She settled in like a duck to water and was amused by mirrors and the TV. She is a very playful hound and LOVES toys. She will keep herself busy with a toy for ages, it is extremely cute. She interacted well with our 2 current greyhounds (2 6 year old females) and we would see no reason why she couldn't live with brothers and sisters!! We would have continued to foster her, until her forever home came up however, she was overly interested in our 2 bearded dragons. And became fixated on their vivarium. She travels really well in a car (even with her headout the window) and also walks/runs up stairs very well. She lingered by the door when needed a wee and went to the toilet when requested. She is an amazing little hound and would make be perfect girl for anyone.

Barney
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Well on Saturday I met with Florence for a run at the kennels. Well I say run more like jog. Anyway I pinched some treats even though I’m on a diet. I am a cheeky boy. It was great to see Florence and the guys at the kennels. It was not good getting my nails clipped though. But I was a good boy and put up with it. It was daddy’s birthday yesterday. I may have been a bit naughty... I chewed one of daddy’s cards ! He only just opened it hehe. There is a nice hole in it now. Not sure how happy he was. You know I was sad because I was unable to get daddy a card because I don’t have any pawpounds. Which is money if you’re wondering. So I created a little piece from me. You’re welcome dad! Barney Xx

No Mand A relation was coming from Bristol for the blue girl but someone was there when we arrived! She’s taken Roary and has gone on to Hall Green to see a blue unraced girl. She’s had three from Daybreaks in the past one who was blue. She wanted 2 and really wanted another blue xx

Jet
I’m Homed
Jet had a good day out at the annual show, he was much more settled by the end of the day seeing all of the none greys wandering round, especially the smaller ones. He spent the day with Roary, Brandy and fluff fluff had lots of fuss and cuddles which he LOVES! He came 3rd in best black dog and then managed to get a FIRST in the dog the judge most wants to take home. Hopefully his forever home will be around the corner very soon xx

Kuro (Brandy)
I’m Homed
Brandy enjoyed his day at the annual dog show, he travelled great on the back seat with fluff fluff with no issues at all. He then spent the rest of the day with Jet and Roary, making sure to say hello to all the dogs and people he possibly could ( they’ll give me fuss and I can lean on them!). He really is a quiet lad once he’s out of the kennels, he just wanted to be with you. We even learnt today that he knows ‘sit’ and ‘down’ so he’s a smart lad too! Let’s hope your home is around the corner very soon! Xx

Fisher (Roary)
I’m Homed
Roary had a great day at the show, he loved saying hello to all the different breeds and trying to get as many cuddles as he can! He jumped happily in the car with Brandy and Fluff fluff, we met up with ‘jetlucy’ and you had fun in the ring in best matched brace - sadly we didn’t catch the judges attention throughout the day for any big rosettes but we did get a special rosette. Everyone who knows Roary will know he loves toys and he did steal one from the trust stand - trying to play with it through his muzzle! He was great with all people , children including and he would really settle into any home given the chance. Fingers crossed your home is around the corner! Xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
Well.....with most of the kennel dogs going to the dog show today we thought it may be quiet so we could get on with some tasks that we never have the time for. Oh dear what a mistaka to maka! Thanks Tina for your help this morning. X We saw pretty little Dew, now Dewey off to her new home, good luck poppet X Angie decided that kennels duty was far more interesting than F1, thanks Ang for giving up your Sunday. X New arrival Olive came in, what a sweetie, not shy at all. Jimmy found himself reserved, great news. We also had 2 fosterings, albeit 1 one maybe on a short term basis, and 1 hopefully leading to a permanent homing. Getting the dogs out into a home environment really does help to get them into a permanent home. We had bookings for the sand run, remember, this is fully enclosed and recently extended, great to let your hounds have a fun off lead experience. Thanks as always for our volunteers help today, much appreciated. Looks like the dog show was a great success, with interest in some of our hounds. Hopefully this will lead to more homings, our waiting list is ever increasing we really need to get this down and get more deserving hounds into homes. They really do deserve a chance of living in a home. Take care all, let's see what we can achieve this week. Xxxx

It was so lovely to see lots of ex daybreak dogs at the show today, all looking fabulous, especially lovely to have a little cuddle with Ruby Rebel and to hear from his mum and dad how well he's doing. He's as handsome as ever.
