2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A very difficult day today....sadly Ruth was taken ill after dropping Rocky of for his neutering operation. She has spent the day in bed. Do hope she will feel better tomorrow. Xxx It was sad to see Rose returned, her owner was very upset. Sometimes things don't always work out how we would like them too. Many thanks to Bob and Declan for collecting Clodie and Turbo from the track for us this morning. Two very happy hounds and both gorgeous too! This afternoon we had another new arrival the very handsome Ice! His tail didn't stop wagging! Thanks to his Trainer for bringing him in to the kennels. Alan was at the kennels with Paddy when they arrived and straight away Ice's Trainer recognised Paddy as one of his past racers. He was very pleased to see how well Paddy looked and what a lovely home he has. Xx I took Jet off for his vaccination booster later this afternoon. He was so excited to be going out. :)) Jet is a super boy but needs a little help with small dog training. We saw a hairy little lad who Jet was very interested in meeting! Rocky was very subdued on his return to the kennels after his neutering operation. I have never seen him so quiet! :))) Lorna had a couple of pampers booked this afternoon, including ex Daybreaks resident Skip :)) He looked great! I was told he is a good boy...most of the time. :)))) I had a call early this morning from a lady who had found two Greyhounds in Sutton Park. They were wearing one of our tags but no details of their owners name and address. Fortunately from their description I recognised who they were and told the lady who to look for. She called back a short while later to say their owner had been found. Thank you so much to the lady for being concerned for them which thankfully led to a happy ending...please, please remember it is a legal requirement for your dog to wear an identity disc with your name, address and contact details on at all times. It is an easy and relatively inexpensive thing to do and means if your dog should go missing they will have a better chance of being reunited with you. Xx A huge thank you to everyone who helped out today. It was lovely to see Yvonne back from a recent eye operation. She came to supervise mine and Richards bed making and kennel cleaning! Xxx

Oh no poor rosy posy I love this girl! Never mind rose you'll get your turn surely there's so many people who want a cat friendly grey? Some cats just get used to a dog, our youngest thinks he is a dog and worships jet...then jet respects the other as they rule the roost which he's happy with as likes the company! Although rather annoying when we go for a walk and have to keep turning back to return a moggy who has decided to follow! Xxx

Just arriving home from this mornings walk we were met by the man reading the water meters. In his hi vis jacket he came back down the road just to greet Florence. Florence's reaction - straight in for a fuss! Maybe no more training needed!?! Xxx

Poor pretty Rose. So near yet so far. The thing I have found about cats is they are quite possessive of their owners and territory but some will quite happily have several feeding stations at houses as well as their own. Plus if they think you are not treating them in the manner they wish they will trot off and find someone that will LOL Grey's are much more loyal. Sorry to all cat owners I have had them myself, but now confirmed dog owner. Good luck Rose you have proved you can live with a cat, you just need a cat who can live with you without fear. You need the one who attacked Finn lol, second thoughts maybe not, your too pretty to get scratched up !

Very sadly Rose has been returned to the kennels today. Unfortunately the family cat is very scared of Rose and they feel they may not be the right home for her at this time. She is a super girl and we are sure she will soon find her forever home. xx

I just love the look of this lad please people do not walk pass the quiet ones spend some time with them they are gems. I have a very quiet lad but he is an absolute cuddle monster i could so easily have over looked him but I am so glad that I didn’t.
