2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A goodday today in some ways, but not for Kate, unfortunately her car would not start this morning, thankfully it is now fixed 🙂 We had lots of helpers so morning and afternoon walks were done, thanks all. The back bedding store wa s blitzed and everything is now in some sort of order. Thanks to Bella, Lucy and Leanne for doing this. Pete is making progress with the kitchen, it is gradually coming together. Sadly Nick is back from foster, he was such a good boy and so well behaved, unfortunately the current dog of the house was not eating and was a little unsettled. He is such a lovely boy, he is our longest stayer and really deserves his forever home. Please someone give this boy a chance, he is such a gentle boy. X

Just got back from the vets who has signed Jato off - she was first admitted two weeks ago, and hasnt eaten properly since then. She is eating better. She still has antacids as of course she did eat duvet ! But they are happy she is going the right way - as we are she was much better on Saturday when we got up almost over night! Her behaviour is more herself to - chatting to next doors dog, watching over the roads cat through the gate, going mad every morning when lady with the dog whistle walks across the field behind our house - all the things that jato fits into her day ! Not feeling up to the chores yet hiding washing that is dropped in her bed, bundling all and any rugs she can find into tidy heaps rather than flat on the floor, oh and washing all the bowls after they finish. Xxx

So pleased to read that Fifi is improving. I really hope she will be back home with you very soon. Xx Fifi’s story and the blood transfusion she needed highlights the great job our Greyhound blood donors are doing. I’ve got Peggy booked in at the Willows tomorrow evening for her first donation and I’m keeping everything crossed she will be a successful donor.

Sadly Nick has come back from foster today, this is not due to anything he has done, the family dog was not eating and was unsettled. We are told he was a very good boy and settled well whilst there. He really does need to have his own forever home. Please, there must be someone out there that can offer this gorgeous boy a home.

We've been through a similar experience with SFF Maud, Ill out of nowhere with same symptoms, she lost loads of weight spent time with the vet but made a full recovery. Put weight back on in double quick time and now know as 'massive Maud'. Take heart. Xx

What a great day it’s been, it turns out all of you were right. It was a special day! It all started with a squeaky toy. Samantha came into the room squeaking something I knew it was for me so I got up with excitement. She showed me, it was a rabbit! I grabbed it off her and ran off while going mental with it. So much fun. Samantha wanted to take the label off it but I already did that while I was playing with it. Didn’t take long. I played with it for hours. I really appreciated it because I know she paided and chose it herself. The day got better from there. After a fun day with my family and my new toy. I had a special doggy cake JUST FOR ME! It was so nice. I soon gobbled that down. The only downside was that my daddy booked me in for injections. Have to go on Wednesday, not exciting. My dinner was the best part. A special doggy dinner for me. Which tasted of steak and chips. I had it all to myself. Best day ever! Thanks for all birthday wishes. Talk soon. Barney Xx
