Thank you NMDO7. We have had greyhounds for 10 years now so nothing surprises us anymore! But it it is so reassuring to know that so many people care. Xxxx

Fantastic news about Mystic. Paul and I were worried when we heard on Friday that he was poorly but he is obviously built of tough stuff with a strong will to pull through. Fingers crossed for one special oldie xx

A cuddle for Sally tonight. She was a little ray of sunshine when she arrived at the kennels today. For a little girl she gives cuddles...Big cuddles! An absolute little treasure. Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
Ruth took Liza off to the vets this morning for her neutering operation. Teddy went too as we are still concerned about his paw. He had the stitches out yesterday but it hasn't healed as well as we had hoped. He has some antibiotics to take. What he really needs is a home of his own where he can be pampered, I'm sure his paw would heal very quickly! 🙂 Liza was a little wobbly when she came back this afternoon. Hopefully she will feel much better tomorrow. Lucy had a new customer for a pamper a lovely lad called Bruce, not a Greyhound. He is a big chunky lad and when it came to having his nails clipped he was having none of it! He would not keep his feet still. : ) I think he also tried to eat the hair dryer! He is a very happy boy and his tail didn't stop wagging! Lucy and I needed cake afterwards to recover! :)) We had two new arrivals, Dew and Sally, both very pretty girls. Sally is a very happy outgoing little girl. Dew is a little confused at the moment but I'm sure she will soon settle. Ruth and James put banners up against the fence of the small area in the sand run. We want to make sure the dogs can see the fence when they are running around. My Skip had a lovely day; he shared the kicthcn with three lovely girls! Ellie, Cassie, and Maggie. :))) Thank you so much to everyone who helped out today. Xxx

Oh Jill, how scary for you all. Keeping all our fingers and paws crossed for Mystic in his continued recovery. You’re right about not underestimating the oldies. Gent at 13 too can only manage a short walk up and down our road now, but even though he finds it harder to get up from his bed these days, he still beats Emily to the front door when he hears his lead being picked up!!! Big hugs to you all. Mand x

I am so pleased Mystic has made a recovery, I know from experience how awful this is to witness, ours wasn't a happy ending, but I am overjoyed that your boy seems to be making a recovery. Get well soon Mystic xxxxxx

Our gorgeous boy suffered a stroke on Friday evening, leaving him paralysed down his left side, he was unable to stand or walk, we feared the worst. Our vet gave him a chance on Saturday morning by giving him a steroid injection but wasn't hopeful and we prepared ourselves to let him go on sunday. Mystic had other ideas! By Sunday he was standing and taking a couple of steps, another vet trip and another injection. Monday he was much more stable and could get himself up off his bed, today he took himself off into the garden to do "his buisness" although a little wobbly. Moral of the story, don't underestimate the oldies and if possible and appropriate give them a chance. Love you gorgeous boy. Xxxx

Roary today visited Elmdon Park behaving well with all other breeds he met and walking well on the lead. He's a lovely friendly lad who will be a great addition to any family home.
