What a fabulous, clever girl Eillie is 🙂 and soooo funny 🙂 . She 'met' Ruth's new dolly that cries ,Eillie was a bit worried so barked at the doll, her foster mum just took a step backwards with Eillie until she stopped barking and looked away from the doll. She got a 'click' to tell her that's what we'd like her to do and she also got some sausage as a reward. She barked again but then looked away- click and reward, she soon got the idea and was looking away to get her reward 🙂 . She did sneak forward a step, hid under her foster mum's skirt, had a bark but immediately stepped back and was quiet 🙂 .. really funny and clever 🙂 . She'll learn that she can move away from something that worries her so she'll get braver 🙂 Such a lovely girl 🙂 and very very smart 🙂 xx

Hey, Fat Neck Finn didn't sell himself, even when we came over to see him after Ruth's plea about his long stay. That was part of his long stay problem. However look at him now. Loves visitors (especially if they bring food lol) and has given us so much fun with his little quirks. Someone should snap Treaty up quickly , sounds like the perfect boy. don't miss out.

Treaty is a quiet lad who won't push himself forward to anyone who may be viewing our dogs. He behaved perfectly in Elmdon Park towards all the dogs he met. Just walking sensibly and enjoying the new experience of a park visit. He travelled well in the car . Hopefully his reserved nature won't mean he has a long wait for that permanent home to arrive.

Norman took Treaty for a visit to the park yesterday. He had a great time and was such a good boy. 🙂 He is a happy and very affectionate lad. A cuddle for him tonight. Xxx

Barney you are in the bad books with the ladies in the house you let them take you for a walk in the park so you can just stand there and not move. I know that is not the place you go at night. Barney is very fussy there are 4 places he goes for his run and you have to do them in order otherwise he will no move when you get there. 1 place he will only go at night, 1 he will only go when I get home from work (the one they took him too ) 1 depends on the weather and how many people are about and the last 1 anytime of day but must be quiet at night. Barney you taught me well but the ladies have no patience ????

A quiet day for visitors but we had our lovely usual walkers this morning and everyone enjoyed the late summer sunshine. A big thank you to Norman for taking Treaty to the park. I believe he had a great time and Norman said he was a good boy with both other dogs and people. He is a super lad who loves to give out kisses. :)) Thanks so much to loveheart for your kind comments about Daybreaks. We do have lots of great volunteers who truly love the Greyhounds and want everyone of them to find a happy loving home. 🙂 We are so grateful for all their help and to everyone who supports us in lots of different ways. Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Oh no the waiting list is increasing, maybe it is just the holiday season slowing things down, I do hope so. On the positive side I have to say whenever I pop over to Daybreaks it is such a happy cheerful place with such positive vibes. Even the hounds who are anxious and confused when they arrive after only knowing kennel life, soon realise that this place is not just another kennel, it is somewhere full of caring loving people who will stop at nothing (well maybe there are somethings too far) to find the right forever home for these deserving Greys. They give up their days and weekends for the love of them, and sometimes have to struggle with emotions when they have sad news, but the next day they are back in the groove, because the hounds also keep them sane in this mad world with their little funny quirks, and cuddles soon put a smile back on their faces. Long may Daybreaks be the oasis of care it is.

Well done Eillie and Tiggersmum. All these lovely hounds have such potential and if you are able to put the time in with them it's very satisfying to see how well they respond.

We had lots of help today 🙂 Our boys and girls all had a nice long walk this morning and more walks again this afternoon. It was a really pleasent walking type of day! The very handsome Ashley came in for a pamper with Lucy. He was such a good boy. 🙂 We have lots of lovely Greyhounds at the kennels waiting for that special someone to come along, take them home and love them. It's so sad there are so many on our waiting list. Some of the boys have been waiting a long time to come into the kennels for a chance of a forever home. If you are thinking of adopting a dog please consider a Greyhohund, they make wonderful pets! Xxx
