Rocky

Rocky has been with us since Christmas Eve. He is inquisitive, playful and affectionate. When he first came home with us, he was into everything and wanted to know what we were doing all the time. Now on day 4 with us, he still likes to know what we're doing, but if it isn't very interesting, he's happy to chill on his bed instead. He loves his toys and food. He is quite happy to throw his toy around and entertain himself. He eats really well, but isn't pushy whilst I prepare his food. He has a good sniff at the counter, but doesn't jump up. On the first night, he was very curious when we sat on the sofa with a sandwich, but after a few minutes of firmly saying no, he gave up. He learns really quickly as already on Christmas Day he didn't bother us at the table, but lay on his bed next to us. He has been on a good walk every day. He is excited to go for a walk, but allows himself to be leaded up sensibly. He walks at a good pace and enjoys a good sniff. He is quite interested in other dogs, but will allow himself to be guided past them. He has investigated the stairs and isn't keen. He got half way up and froze. It was interesting getting him back down! We offered him a crate to sleep in, but prefers his normal bed. Rocky loves his cuddles and always greets us in the morning with a waggy tail and gives the impression that he hasn't seen us for years. He's a handsome and charming chap, who is on the larger side for a greyhound, but can curl up quite well. He is coming back to the kennels tomorrow due to my other commitments. He is a really sweet lad. Please do not overlook him because of his size. He's a lovable lump, who has a lot to offer his new owners. If anyone would like to know anything about his time with us, please just post a question.

Hello everyone, Less than 2 days for our cycle and sleepover fundraiser for Daybreaks. With us being on the road cycling, we are appealing for anyone to volunteer as a support driver for us. This would involve having some of our items in your vehicle in case we need anything. Such as first aid, food, drinks, clothing etc. The ride will start from Daybreaks in Elmdon going to Perry Barr Greyhound Stadium. Stopping for lunch then back k to Daybreaks. All kit we need will be provided by us. All we ask is for someone to be around the half way mark on stand by. If any assistance is required we will contact you by phone and give you a precise location from there. If there is anyone that would be available to offer support please get in touch. Thank you

Over the Rainbow Bridge
Well my little Willow Pillow, can't believe it's been two years ago that we said goodnight and sleep tight at Rainbow bridge. We all love and miss you every day, and thankful that when you crossed the bridge you were at home surrounded by love on your bed and warm. Xxxx

I am desperately seeking an urgent foster home for Peril. She is a sweet natured girl but just not getting on with one of the greyhounds in her family. She has been in a home since September so we’d really like to find her a foster home asap.

Happy Christmas my darling boy! Mommy misses you so so much, not the same without you here, miss all the things we used to do together. I've put your stocking on your memorial wall to make sure you still got it! I love you with all my heart and wish you were still here. So pleased to say all of our lads and lasses have found foster homes for Christmas. Xxx Rocky was the last one to leave the kennels this afternoon. He really is a lovely lad...full of life and interested in everything! Xxx When we arrived at the kennels this morning Ruth got Rocky and Robbie out and let them have a wander around the kennels. They met Ruth's Tony, Tigger and Momma and my Skip. The poor Christmas Tree outside the office was the target for a lot of wees! :)) They all had a great time. Rocky helped with the Christmas Raffle draw, congratulations to those who were lucky enough to win one of the prizes. :)) Thanks so much to everyone who has donated food, Sardines, treats, toys and bedding for the dogs and sweets, chocolates, biscuits and mince pies for the volunteers. So very kind of you. Xxx Wishing you all a very happy and peaceful Christmas. Sending lots of Christmas hugs to your four legged friends. :). Xxxx
