Just to update, we picked Pearl up 10 days ago and within 24hours she had made herself right at home! Snuggling on the sofa, roaching in her bed, and chattering whilst having lots of fuss. She loves her food & going for walks, not a fan of cats, I can’t believe how quickly she settled in and how friendly and welcoming she is if anyone visits. Pearl had bloods done for her recent kidney injury and the results showed her kidney function is still improving which is good, she’s due to go back in 4weeks for repeat bloods, BP check and to take a wee sample (that should be fun!) thank you Daybreaks, Ruth & Willows vets for caring this lovely bundle of joy x

Daybreaks Diary!

Today we saw the gorgeous Django come back from his Christmas foster break. He is heartbreakingly handsome but does need to go to a home with the company of another dog as he has been absolutely brilliant in foster. No surprise..... he will be coming home with me and fingers crossed for a viewing in the near future! The gorgeous Beryl who was sadly returned Boxing Day to our house and promptly went straight out to foster following an appeal on Facebook was officially signed up.... she is the opposite of Django and we think she prefers being an only princess!!! Most of you will know Jess one of our volunteers.... she finally became an official greyhound owner today and signed up her gorgeous new boy Koda. He is an absolute bundle of fun and has the cutest face. I am having a battle with the internet, printer and computer taking it in turns not to work so I may just forget the paperwork and go and cuddle an inmate.... there are plenty to choose from but bouncy Jen will probably be top of my list today. We had great fun in the sand run together earlier.... but then I do love the black and white ones!

Daybreaks Diary!

It was so dark when I opened up this morning I had to check my watch just in case I was an hour early!! The doggies did not appreciate the dash between their lovely warm kennels and the feeding runs in the driving rain!! When I reached Bobbie's kennel It looked like an explosion had taken place - the stuffing from a pillow and 2 duvets was literally carpeting the bed and floor!!! She looked at me with such lovely eyes as if to say "I don't know how it happened, honest"!!! Jen, who is a very lively little girl, absolutely hates being shut up in her kennel, so after we were finished feeding & cleaning, Ruth let her out for a run round the kennels (gates securely latched!). She thoroughly enjoyed exploring every corner of the kennels, but especially loved her play time in the sand run. There is lots in the diary for the rest of the weekend, so keep fingers crossed for some red or green signs - we have so many lovely residents deserving of their very own home. Angie xx

Daybreaks Diary!

Thanks to Angie for opening up today, and to Chris, Karla, Matthew and Suzi for all their help and hard work. We had two lovely new arrivals today, Magic a boy and Bobbie (she is a girl and we were told her pet name was Bobs)!! When she was dropped off her trainer called her Bobbie, so Bobbie it is. She is Kate's Crackers sister and also Peanut and Coopers trainer. My two instantly recognized him, it was lovely to see that they recognized him and were happy to see him!!
