Would like to give huge congratulations to Rob, Ruth, Molly and Andy on completing their bike ride from the Kennels to Perry Barr Stadium and back again!! They are also sleeping in the kennels tonight accompanied by Mathew and Carol. River has been the perfect Christmas guest. He settled in so fast he is so good on the lead. He sleeps all through the night. He loves to play with his new toys and has lots of energy. He now waits patiently for his food and enjoyed his Xmas dinner. Everyone loves him who meets him he is extremely loving. He really is a fabulous dog and so deserves his forever home now. He has so much love to give. I will so miss him.

So pleased to see the comments of Elizabeth on Rockys stay with her over Christmas. I've taken him to the park on previous occasions and he really is a terrific lad. It's strange how some dogs struggle to find the home they really deserve. Hopefully the New Year will bring that forever home that Rocky has patiently been waiting for.

I always have a kennel favourite and Rocky is my current one. I've really enjoyed reading how he has been getting on in his foster home, sounds like he was the perfect guest. I am sure he will make a greyt pet when his chance comes. As much as I love to see him I hope that chance comes very soon, in fact its way overdue in my opinion. With this glowing report from Liz_beth who can resist him. Perhaps people over look him due to his size and his laid back nature, he erhaps doesn't sell himself enough! Lets hope someone will give him the best happy new year...his forever home xx

Further to my comment yesterday, I wanted to add that Rocky travels really well in the car. He needs a little help to get in, but I'm sure he would gain confidence with time. I must mention as well how fantastic he has been overnight in the house. He settles at night time immediately (sleeping downstairs on his own) and sleeps till late. We have been getting up at about 8 o'clock and have not heard a peep from him. I have never known such a chilled out hound during the night. He has been completely clean overnight, every night. In fact we have only had a couple of accidents at the very start of his stay. As I said yesterday, he is a quick learner xx

Rocky

Rocky has been with us since Christmas Eve. He is inquisitive, playful and affectionate. When he first came home with us, he was into everything and wanted to know what we were doing all the time. Now on day 4 with us, he still likes to know what we're doing, but if it isn't very interesting, he's happy to chill on his bed instead. He loves his toys and food. He is quite happy to throw his toy around and entertain himself. He eats really well, but isn't pushy whilst I prepare his food. He has a good sniff at the counter, but doesn't jump up. On the first night, he was very curious when we sat on the sofa with a sandwich, but after a few minutes of firmly saying no, he gave up. He learns really quickly as already on Christmas Day he didn't bother us at the table, but lay on his bed next to us. He has been on a good walk every day. He is excited to go for a walk, but allows himself to be leaded up sensibly. He walks at a good pace and enjoys a good sniff. He is quite interested in other dogs, but will allow himself to be guided past them. He has investigated the stairs and isn't keen. He got half way up and froze. It was interesting getting him back down! We offered him a crate to sleep in, but prefers his normal bed. Rocky loves his cuddles and always greets us in the morning with a waggy tail and gives the impression that he hasn't seen us for years. He's a handsome and charming chap, who is on the larger side for a greyhound, but can curl up quite well. He is coming back to the kennels tomorrow due to my other commitments. He is a really sweet lad. Please do not overlook him because of his size. He's a lovable lump, who has a lot to offer his new owners. If anyone would like to know anything about his time with us, please just post a question.

Hello everyone, Less than 2 days for our cycle and sleepover fundraiser for Daybreaks. With us being on the road cycling, we are appealing for anyone to volunteer as a support driver for us. This would involve having some of our items in your vehicle in case we need anything. Such as first aid, food, drinks, clothing etc. The ride will start from Daybreaks in Elmdon going to Perry Barr Greyhound Stadium. Stopping for lunch then back k to Daybreaks. All kit we need will be provided by us. All we ask is for someone to be around the half way mark on stand by. If any assistance is required we will contact you by phone and give you a precise location from there. If there is anyone that would be available to offer support please get in touch. Thank you

Over the Rainbow Bridge
Well my little Willow Pillow, can't believe it's been two years ago that we said goodnight and sleep tight at Rainbow bridge. We all love and miss you every day, and thankful that when you crossed the bridge you were at home surrounded by love on your bed and warm. Xxxx
