It was great to see Django go home today. :)) He has a beautiful new Greyhound sister to take care of him. They had a great time in the sand run, they took to each other straight away. Xxx Lots of love to his fabulous new family! Xxx

Kitty

Kitty was a star today. Out on our walk we got bombed by 2 off lead and out of control dogs. Big hairy barky things. Hastily followed by a woman profusely apologising and blaming her husband for letting the dogs out before she’d got the gate closed after arriving home - we were up a bridleway by the canal with HUGE posh (gated) houses down it. Anyway, Pod ran away, Pedro told them what he thought and Whitby and Kitty just stood there while the woman rounded up her errant beasts. She’s since made up for it by escalating her kleptomaniac tendencies to include a clementine from the fruit bowl (she didn’t like it). It is lovely to see her mischievous personality emerging now.

Daybreaks Diary!

Wow! What a crazy day! We had Steve brought in this morning - homed direct from a trainer 18 months ago but the owners are unable to keep. He is absolutely gorgeous and Kate took him off for his vaccination this afternoon.... during this time I did the homing paperwork for Quivers and Duque and Django was viewed and promptly rehomed. We had a viewing for Bobbie as well and I am doing her home check on Thursday. I have had Jen in the office for a short while this afternoon - she doesn't like being in the kennel! She was very excited to start with but soon settled down!

Django had a great time during his foster stay over the holidays. He was a perfect guest and a well-behaved hound with great manners. He is very loving and a bit of a fusspot. He likes having his ears and his chin rubbed, and he is happy roaching on his bed. He enjoys playing with toys, and will be happy with another dog to play with, but also he will get some reassurance from another dog when he becomes a bit nervous about new things. Django is going to be a fantastic hound in his forever home.

We had the honour of saying ‘Hi’ to Lorna…such a beautiful girl…didn’t get chance for a proper cuddle but she kept popping her paw for more through the bars - an absolute gorgeous girl who will absolutely still hearts with those eyes and nose ????

Daybreaks Diary!

As always, thanks to everyone for their help today. All the inmates apart from Jen had morning and afternoon walks. Jen had fun in the sand run and she seemed a little happier with the extra exercise. Jim came in for his four week health check and to use the sand run, he is doing well. We had a donation of bedding, the lovely couple had a look at the residents. They had sadly lost their greyhound last year. Vicky liked Lorna and Brett liked River. They are coming back on Friday with some more bedding for us, I'm sure they will want to see the residents again. Fingers crossed they may find the right dog for them, they do have two smaller dogs so we will have to wait and see. The gorgeous Minnie was officially signed up today, before Christmas we have frantically looking for our list of potential fosterers, I found the list albiet a little late, it had made it's way into the foster paperwork taken with her!!! That is one mystery solved!!!

We met the beautiful Riv today whilst dropping off some bedding. What a beautiful soul…not stopped talking about Riv and Lorna all day! Lost our Greyhound rescue March 21 ????
