Suzie
I’m Homed
Yesterday I went to see Suzie to complete her homing paperwork - she is becoming much more confident, her coat is gleaming and she has much more weight on. However her owner told me she had been petrified of the thunderstorms. Today I popped back over with a crate and took the opportunity to clip her nails as well. She remembered me from the day before and wagged her tail - perhaps it was the ham treat she loved more!

I’m Homed
Well, the thunderstorm last night was quite spectacular! Sadly my poor little Lyra was really terrified and joined us upstairs followed by Skip and Cracker who just wanted to follow Lyra! Skip was in our room, Cracker and Lyra in the spare room. Thankfully the storm soon passed, they all settled and went back to sleep. Xxx When we arrived at the kennels this morning Zavi had managed to wriggle free from his cone. :(( He had licked the wound on his shoulder but it's not looking too bad. He really is such a lovely lad and I am sure once he is settled in his forever home he would be a pleasure to have around. Xxx Ruth and Mollie took Mikey for a full check up with the vet this afternoon. On the advice from our vet We are going to arrange further investigations into a couple of concerns he has raised. Xxx Norman and his Grandson Jake took Dolly for a trip to the park for us this morning. She had a great time. :)) Norman said she was a really good girl. Xxx Thanks so much to everyone for your help today. We had enough walkers for the dogs to have nice long walks morning and afternoon. :)) Please don't forget our Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Evening on Saturday 24th September. It's a special way to remember the four legged memebers of our families who are sadly no longer with us. If you are not able to attend but would like us to light a candle on your behalf in memory of those who are running free at Rainbow Bridge, please give us a call and we will be more than happy to arrange this for you. Xxx

Rocky
I’m Homed
Rocky came with me to Elmdon Park today. As Norman said, he's a big boy and a bit unsure of how to react with other breeds when he comes nose to nose with them. He will happily be guided past them though without a greeting. He enjoyed his walk and smelling most of the blades of grass in the park. He's a happy boy and hopefully he won't have to wait too long for his forever sofa xx

I’m Homed
Another quiet day for visitors again today, I echo Kate's sentiments that hopefully we will have more viewings and homings now that the holidays are over. All of our residents really deserve their forever homes. Thanks to everyone for their help today all dogs had morning and afternoon walks, thanks to Liz for taking Rocky to the park, it seems he was a little overwhelmed at times, but it is early days. We had visit from Alice to use the sand run and also Pippin who was Diva at the Kennels for her 4 week health check and sand run fun, she had a ball with the ball launcher and tennis ball. It's always lovely to see our homed dogs after they have been in their homes for a while. Mr Zavaroni (Zavi) is still sporting his cone of shame after his little accident last Sunday, he really looks a little sorry for himself. He is in the kitchen run and seems a little happier with the extra space. Here's hoping for some lovely red and green signs over the next week or so. Xx

I am very sad to read your news. My thoughts go out to you. Is it really 3.5 years you've had Daisy? It doesn't seem that long since I took your gorgeous girl to the park. x

Meg
Over the Rainbow Bridge
I received a call from Meg's owners today to say very sadly she has gone to Rainbow Bridge. She had a long and happy life with them and they have lots of memories to treasure of her. Their children have all grown up with Meg, their furry sister and are missing her always being around. She was a very much loved member of their family. Sending lots of love to you all. Xxx God Bless your special girl Meg. Xxx

It was a quiet day at the kennels today. I guess everyone is gettting ready to go back to school, college and work after the summer holidays...can't believe it is September already. It has also been quiet for viewings and homings the last couple of weeks. Hoping that will change soon...we have lots of gorgeous Greyhounds waiting for their forever homes at the kennels and on our waiting list. Xxx if you think you could offer one of our boys or girls a loving forever home please give us a call - 0121 782 7702 Thanks so much to everyone who helped out today. So kind of you...Gill and Sam were our only walkers this afternoon...four walks for Sam and five for Gill! :)) All of our residents were very grateful and so was I :)) Xxx

I’m Homed
Morning everybody, I am currently raising money for Daybreaks by doing my own bike ride. I work at the CBS Arena in Coventry, home to Cov City football club & Wasps Rugby club. I will be riding from the arena to CCFC training ground then to Wasps training ground then to Daybreaks kennels. I have set up a GoFundMe page if anyone wishes to donate. All funds on there will be going straight to the kennels. I am currently in the process of getting a bike and kit together for my ride. I will be updating my go fund me page with more info and updates on what is happening so keep checking 🙂 https://gofund.me/ca90a7cf I look forward to seeing you at the Elmdon Park Fun Day 10th September. Rob 🙂
