Sam (Star)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Sam - (Startofanera - 09 Jan 2013 - 15 Aug 2022) Jackie, Cliff and Billy, had to say goodbye to their wonderful Sam earlier this week. He was taken ill suddenly and passed away within a few hours leaving his family totally heartbroken. Xxx Sam was a true gentleman with a gentle nature. Fostered by Jackie and Cliff "just" for Christmas in 2017....they fell for this beautiful, handsome black lad who was the perfect brother for their gorgeous Greyhound Billy and offered him his forever home. Xxx He has had the most fantastic, happy life with them surrounded by love. Xxx God Bless your Sam. Taken far too soon. Thinking of you all and sending lots of love, we all know how it feels...special hugs to Billy who I know is missing his brother terribly. Kate, Skip, Lyra and Cracker. Xxx

Bocko

Bocko is quite a stressful, sensitive lad. After discussions with his new owner we thought it would be beneficial to him to go to his new home for a few hours each day this week to help him to get used to his new surroundings. He is doing really well and getting more relaxed with each visit. He was wagging his tail when he saw his new Dad today. Xxx

Angie had her Neutering operation today. She was a little sleepy when she arrived back at the kennels this afternoon. She did eat some dinner later on. Hoping it won't be long before her forever home comes along. Xxx

After Prince was reserved...we were checking his family tree and discovered Tommy was his Brother! Both super dogs, Prince has a distinguished grey face and is quieter, Tommy is bouncy lad! They are both very handsome! Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

It turned out to be a busy day today....only Declan and myself in his morning and all but two of our residents decided to leave me a nice poo to clean up in their kennels! :)) Thanks to our lovely Volunteer Diane who forsook walking for cleaning up poo instead! :))) Xxx Thanks to Dec for feeding everyone. :)) Bocko went out for a few hours again and while he was out his companion Prince was reserved. 🙂 Xxx Sue very kindly took Angie off to the vets this morning for her Neutering operation and Richard collected her this afternoon. Xxx Thanks so much to everyone for your help...great walking weather warm and pleasant! Xxx

After the sadness of being returned recently it was time to smile today for super Prince. A lovely family came to visit him today and he charmed them of their feet. We were so happy for him today, I think he's going to have a wonderful time in his new home. Another surprise we hadn't realized, Tommy also at Daybreaks is his brother, equally handsome too. Good luck Prince, it was a pleasure to help today xx

A message from Lyra...."At last! Egg Custards tonight for me, Skip and Cracker to celebrate my 8th Birthday!! I made sure Kate had written them on her shopping list....you just can't get the staff these days! :)) Thank you to everyone for your concern and support. Xxx :)) Kate forgot to mention she tried to offer us yogurt ice lollies as a substitute on my Birthday but couldn't get them out of the containers!! She does try Bless her!" XX Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Thankfully it was cooler today, thanks to the Wednesday walkers the inmates had morning walks. This afternoon it was Chris and myself so we locked the Kennels and took the dogs around the sand run. Betty didn't want her breakfast but quite happily ate her dinner. She really doesn't know why she is back in Kennels. Bocko went out for a few hours and was far more settled than yesterday when he went out. Fingers crossed all keeps going well.

Prince

Thank you so much to Norman for taking Prince out to the park today. He really did need a change of scene and reading Norman's comments he obviously enjoyed himself and was such a good boy. Both Prince and Bocko have been very sad to find themselves back at the kennels, I know they were very happy in their home. Hoping they will both soon be in happy homes again. Xxx

Prince

With Bocko going out today for a viewing it seemed the right time to give Prince an outing to Elmdon Park I have to confess I was taken aback at what a fantastic lad he proved to be. I really couldn't fault him in anyway. He jumped into the car on his own and travelled well to the park. Although a keen walker he doesn't pull outrageously. On meeting other breeds he was calm and friendly with them. Also he enjoyed a small boy stroking him. He's a lovely lad with a real happy demeanour and will hopefully be finding his new home before too long.

Over the Rainbow Bridge
I got the message from the owner that Horse has passed away. It is so sad to get such news. I feel priveldged to have worked with him and the family to help improve his behaviour. My thoughts are with you all as he was such a nice boy. Run freely Horse.
