Poor Josh. It's sad to see he is still struggling with some sort of currently unknown issue & I v much hope you can soon get to know what's what. And then I hope even more treatment/ & behaviour therapy will be able to help so that he can have a long and happy life. When I read your post Erik about his eyes been dilated all the time it made me wonder if he's had a brain injury that's caused long term damage

Daybreaks Diary!

Very short of volunteers today, no walks again just paddling pools and wet towels, some were more enthusiastic than others! The heat is not doing the dogs any good, poor Angie opened up this morning and was greeted by some very messy kennels, bless them they really can't help it, the heat really does make them uncomfortable. Well the blinds were closed after cleaning which kept the kennels cooler and the fans were put on before we left. Thankfully only another couple of days of this before it gets cooler, not only will the dogs be grateful but so will we!!

Daybreaks Diary!

So sorry for no Daybreaks diary yesterday. So today I was covering for Kate, Ruth has not been well so I went in to cover. Yvonne and I opened up and were greeted by several 'messy' kennels! Hosepipe at the ready we managed to clean the walls and the floors. It must have been the heat as the inmates only had their normal food. Many thanks to Yvonne for sorting the rest of the kennels whilst I did feeding and sorted the cats. It started getting very warm very quickly, so only a few dogs got morning walks, the remaining dogs had the paddling pools out and all dogs came out and had their turn during the day. Poor Yvonne took a tumble but thankfully she was ok. Thanks to everyone who came in to help, the dogs had their teeth cleaned and had a good groom. Bocko was reserved and pending another meet and greet with the owners other dog on Tuesday when hopefully the weather will be cooler he may have a new home. Well, back in tomorrow, not looking forward to the heat but it can't be helped, the priority will be to keep the dogs cool and comfortable.

Very sadly Betty has been returned, she and the other resident greyhound had an altercation and it is felt that as the other dog has been with the owner longer that it was right for Betty to come back. She is not other breed friendly and would be suited to a home either with no children or children over the age of 10.

Thanks Jo the pleasure and privilidge to look after Mr River is all mine. He's having walks. He has an aunty Bern and uncle Darc that come and see him on my 2 days I work. Bless them. They love him and he's being spoilt rotten and so he should raced until 7 no dog deserves to be spoilt more than him. He's the sweetest boy and so good I cannot believe how he has settled and adapted to his new surroundings so quickly. He tells me when he wants the loo. Saw a cat running up an alley wasnt the slightest bit interested. These dogs are amazing. I fully understand that 1 is never enough. I will so miss Rivs when he goes.

Great news, Timmy, I been waiting for this news!!!! When you came to me you were scared of the world and following lots of work to give you confidence with the world out there you achieved so much. I have said it many times, but I am so proud of you. You clearly got on with Tilly the first time you met and it was brilliant to see you play in your new home garden. Well done and enjoy your new life.
