Sammy is such a friendly lad. He met Jag today when he came in to have his nails clipped. Sammy was in one of the runs and gave him such a waggy tail and a kiss on his head! Xxx

Over the Rainbow Bridge
Josh has been quite unsettled since coming back to the kennels. He spent the day sitting with my Skip and Lyra. He is a very loving, affectionate lad just looking for the right home. Xxx

Minky (Misty)

Misty has been renamed Minky. She has been with us just over a week & we couldn't have been blessed with a better companion for 13 year old Sid. Minky has settled into our life & routine very quickly. Lovely affectionate girl who is happy just to be with you. Loved the beach & seaside, walks well, friendly with dogs & meets new experiences head on! Thank you Kate for making this happen & making our family complete again x

I would like to respond to the Wednesday walkers....clocks don't leap off walls (Peanut hasn't been the same since)!!! Plastic strips by the block door don't fall off on their own free will and your efforts to tip me over the edge are working!!! I have formally requested that my working Wednesday is changed for a more normal less strange day. See you all on Wednesday. Lol xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

That was a busy old Friday!! Ruth had a full house for teeth & corns, she was on her knees most of the morning!!! We had some fabulous donations of bedding & towels, many thanks indeed - it is amazing just how much we go through now we have a full kennels again. And Lorna had pamper customers, so the day just flew past. Our boys & girls spent time in the outside feeding runs this morning, having playtime with interactive toys and then chilling in the lovely sunshine. They had a lovely walk this afternoon and are now happily tucked up in bed. Well incredibly another weekend is here - and the diary is busy again. I shall raise my usual glass (or 2) later to toast our residents and hope that forever homes will soon be theirs. The weather forecast looks amazing so whatever you're up to, stay safe & cool, and enjoy. Cheers!! Angie xx

Ummm - on behalf of the Wednesday walkers I would just like to point out that the office clock literally leapt off the wall as I was getting the trackers down (it nearly concussed poor Peanuts who was underneath!) Also, the plastic covering bit fell off the wall while we were in the kennels leading up, therefore we accept no responsibility for this! Can I just add how much we agree about Annie who works really hard and puts up with all the madness that occurs on Wednesdays!! Xx

So sad things haven't worked out this time for Chloe, it has to be the right situation for everyone. We are very grateful to Jasper's family for trying them together. She was a star during her stay with them. :)) Sure she will soon find her forever home. Xxx

After having Chloe to stay with a view to adopting her, we made a very difficult decision that it is not right for Jasper, who has been misbehaving, refusing to walk and generally being stubborn since she came to visit! We are really sad not to be able to give her a forever home, so it is with a heavy heart we have to unreserve her. Wishing she finds the most amazing home very soon. Please please someone give her a chance - see our post below about how wonderful she is! X

Firstly, I would like to welcome Denise back to the Kennels after being unwell with the dreaded covid, she finally had 2 negative results over the past few days. The chucks were pleased to see her as were we!! Thanks too to the Wednesday walkers for taking all the dogs out this morning, providing coffee, toasted fruit loaf, wrecking the office clock, knocking a piece of plastic covering off in the bottom kennel block and.....I could go on. I will be requesting a change in my working day, not sure how long I can cope with them before they tip me over the edge (might be too late already) !!!!!! We were very short on help this afternoon, but thanks to Chris and Annie the dogs all had afternoon walks. Poor Josh was on no walks as he was limping, it looks like he has something in his pad, Ruth is going to dig around tomorrow to see if he has got something in there. He spent the day in the feeding run with a raised bed and toys. He had not been eating well since his return on Monday, but this afternoon he wolfed his dinner down. I would just like to say our lovely Wednesday college work placement student Annie has really come out of her shell. She was very shy and seemed a little unsure of what was expected of her....well she has blossomed and gets on with the daily tasks, only asking when she arrives what we want her to do, after that she uses her initiative and gets on with whatever needs to be done. I really felt that she should have recognition for her hard work. It was very quiet for visitors today just a couple of sand run bookings although the phone was fairly busy. Hoping that the next few days will result in more red and green signs.

Today is baby Sam's 3rd official Gotcha Day. The 3 played with toys and had treats. He's such a loving boy. I love the 3 of them so much and Daddy Simon would be very proud of them. Happy Gotcha Day my cuddle monster. x
