Sadly through no fault of his own, River has been returned today. He is absolutely adorable - clean in the house, good on the lead, good with other breeds and quiet and gentle. Ruth (using Kate's login!!!!)

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

I saw Alex go out to his foster home yesterday and I have had reports that he has settled well and hasn't stopped wagging his tail. He is doing really well on the Natures Menu raw diet and starting to put on weight. If you would like to donate towards his vet bill (which was over £4,000 or help towards his ongoing care please click the donate button below or you can log on to his JustGiving fundraising page - I am so grateful for your support to help this gentle fella. x www.justgiving.com/alexfundraiser

So very pleased for Liberty, her new family travelled all the way from Wales, it took them three hours because of traffic! They homed the gorgeous George, now Seanchai from us a little while ago. He and Liberty got on so well. Wishing the whole family all the very best. Xx

    I’m Homed

After a very grey, dull start it turned into a glorious day, and yes - I got lines of washing dry!! We were very thin on the ground for volunteers, just Chris and I for walking this morning, so it was sand run playtime this afternoon. Little Lucy is still so very nervous bless her, she went out on the walk but wasn't very happy, even when walking next to her companion Misty. She heads straight for her kennel whenever she has been taken out and snuggles up into the corner. Hopefully as time goes by she will realise she is safe and all is well, and she will start to gain some confidence. It was quite a busy day. So lovely to see our special boy Alex going off to his foster home first thing this morning, then the lovely Liberty bagged herself a forever home with a very handsome fur brother this afternoon, and lots of donations of towels & bedding to sort and put away. Well, the weekend is here again - I'm sure someone is taking a day out of the week while I'm not looking!!!! It is a white wine kind of evening so I shall raise a glass or 2 later to toast our newcomers and hope Lucy starts to settle soon, Sammy who is currently outnumbered by a bevvy of lovely ladies, and all the doggies in foster care hoping for forever homes soon. Whatever you are up to this weekend, stay safe and enjoy. Cheers!! Angie xx

    I’m Homed

This morning several of us went to the funeral of one of our volunteers, Carol Prince. Carol volunteered at the kennels for many years walking the dogs on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. She homed many Greyhounds throughout her life, Maisie was her last sweet little girl who sadly passed away a couple of years ago. For the last few months Carol visited the kennels frequently and although she was no longer able to go for walks she would sit with them, especially those who were nervous and needed some extra love and attention. Carol was a lovely lady and we will miss her. She is now reunited with all her Greyhounds at Rainbow Bridge, together forever. :)) Xxx

Lucy is a very pretty young lady. 🙂 She is quite nervous in her new surroundings at the moment. Her trainer says she is quite happy once she gets to know you. Xxx

    I’m Homed

Andy is so adorable, still clearly uncomfortable with his paw. He is a complete cuddle monster, loves being cuddled and stroked, if you're doing either of these he will put his head or paw on you to be close. He was clean and dry last night and responds well to praise, chicken and ham. Andy would be a wonderful addition to any family, he's gorgeous xx

    I’m Homed

Another quite day for volunteers, just Ruth and myself to begin with. Thanks to the depleted Wednesday walkers for their help today, hoping we are up to full strength next week! It was lovely to see Alex looking much brighter and eating today. Dog Andy was also much happier and comfortable too. Just a warning.....if you come to use the sand run you may well go home with a foster dog. Thanks to Steph and Will for taking Andy out on foster today. Thanks too to Chris and Nebeela for taking the inmates in the sand run this afternoon, thankfully after last week it was very uneventful!!! As always stay safe and well.

Andy had a trip to the vet this morning. He has been limping quite badly for the last couple of days. :(( The vet found he has an infection in one of his pads. He also discovered Andy had a problem with his mouth, this was sorted and he had a dental...to finish off his day he was also Neutered!! Poor lad. Xxx Thanks so much to Shirley and Richard for taking him at short notice to the vets. Xxx Ruth collected him and took him home. :)) She sent a photo of him this evening sharing a bed with Alex. :)) wishing him a speedy recovery. Xxx
