My Gold Star Clean Kennel award goes to all the boys and girls this morning - well done for making cleaning nice and easy today. Glad to report that Cristina’s tail is absolutely fine, just have to make sure she doesn’t bash it on anything else! The sun is shining and it’s going to be another lovely day - let’s hope it’s a lucky day for one of our beautiful hounds. Xx

My little Miss Minnie Moose - such a gorgeous girl who just isn't showing herself at her best in the kennel environment. She just wants to be out with you, doing whatever you're doing, exploring - and then having some quiet time to chill & relax. Your forever home is out there somewhere, fingers crossed it comes along soon. xxx

The change in little Lucy in just over a week is so heartening to see. She now jumps off her bed & comes to the front of her kennel when you go past, and is getting used to seeing lots of different faces round her. Well done sweetheart. xx

Dougie

Dougie looks so cute, his overshot jaw makes it look like he is smiling at you. He is not eating very well at the minute, I couldn't even tempt him with my salmon & green bean fishcakes this morning. Things are still so new for him though so hopefully his appetite will improve as he starts to settle in. x

Don't let her age or grey face fool you - this little lady is a real live wire and is so sweet. She has managed to bash her waggy tail today, but fortunately it doesn't look too bad. x

It turned into a lovely sunny day after a chilly start - and yes, I got the washing dry outside!!! We welcomed our students back after the Easter break so lots of bodies to take our boys & girls out for a walk both this morning and afternoon, as well as completing health checks, grooming and putting away the donations of towels and bedding received. Not surprisingly the sand run was popular today, and we had a lovely visit from ex-resident Caddy who enjoyed a very short run in the sand run then came into the office for a lie down & a snooze on the bed!! Our 3 newbies are all so lovely, Dougie has an overshot jaw and he looks sooo cute, but he's not eating very well at the minute though. I made salmon & green bean fishcakes yesterday & brought them in for all the residents breakfasts - but Dougie wasn't tempted by them sadly. The rest of the residents polished them off and licked the bowls clean!!! A seal of approval I think! Doggies supper time is approaching now, then it's coats back on and time for bed. Despite the lovely day, the forecast is for a chilly night so we will tuck them up warmly with a heater on. Yet another weekend is here, and another busy diary, so let's keep fingers crossed for a red sign or 2 by Monday morning. I shall certainly be raising a glass or two later on to toast this! Whatever you're up to this weekend, stay safe and enjoy. Cheers! Angie xx

Lots going on today!:) With a nearly full kennels it was busy first thing this morning...Declan was in charge of feeding, Vonnie and Stacey cleaning kennels and me Cats and Chickens. :)) We had lots of help with walks both this morning and this afternoon. 🙂 Thanks so much everyone! Wouldn't say it was a warm spring day! It was rather dull and chilly, so fleecy coats on all the residents. (Again!) Xxx Shirley and Richard went to Collect donations from Pets At Home in Stratford, thanks so much! Xxx Many thanks to Declan and Alan who went on a Warehouse run. Xxx. Meanwhile Lucy was busy taking photos of our latest arrivals. :)) Xxx The Pet Blood Bank were here too in their Mobile Unit and we had several Pet dogs visit to offer their help including Belle and Spirit. Xxx Cath brought foster lad Joe in to donate, he is looking a very handsome and happy lad. :)) We only had one Trust dog available to give blood today, beautiful Georgie. The team said she was a perfect blood donor! 🙂 The Pet Blood Bank will be back again at the kennels in a couple of months time. Please give us a call if you are interested in helping this very worthy cause and we will give you their contact details...one donation of blood can help save the lives of up to four other dogs in need. Xxx Handsome Padfoot came in for his eight week check up. He looks wonderful! Xxx This afternoon a lovley family came to visit Misty. Very sadly they recently lost their beautiful Jenna and their poor lad Sid was feeling very lonely. They were homed together several years ago and he is missing his friend. Xxx He left the kennels with a very pretty young lady. Hoping she will help fill the huge space Jenna left behind. Xxxxx Finally....Happy Birthday to Richard! There were lots of cakes and chocolates consumed to help him celebrate!! Xxx

Another busy day! Thanks to everyone for their help today and to Dave who had a day off work and came to the kennels. Thanks Dave for fitting the new hose that was very kindly donated, we now have one that works properly! We had three lovely new arrivals, Barney, Dougie and Cristina. They all had their health checks and baths and all enjoyed their dinner. All dogs are now all tucked up in their beds. It has been a little on the chilly side today but at least it was dry and bright. As always, take care everyone.
