Still looking for fat neck Fin's soulmate, but have had a terrible back problem for 4 weeks (years of abuse of it as a nurse lol) so not been able to think about much except getting past the pain. Touch wood it is at last feeling better so back on track slowly. I was wondering if foster families of the new "oldies" will be giving any info as to nature etc as Finn is 9 now and a bit set in his ways, all he wants is a squeaky toy, a walk or two a day, food, and sleep. A bit like me (minus the squeaky toy LOL) Not too keen on strenuous playing (also a bit like me) except on his own with said toy, but not a nasty bone in his body, so as you can see I don't think he could deal with a hound who was too bouncy. x

Fabulous photo! 🙂 Roxie is one very cute little girl! Lucy and I had lots of fun yesterday watching James and Declan trying to put the pyjamas on Roxie! At one point she had a font leg in the back end of them. She was so patient! :)) Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

A very quiet day for visitors today. A couple of sand run bookings and food collection. Many thanks to everyone for their help today. The residents all had morning walks, this afternoon was too hot even with cool coats, so out came the paddling pools. They all enjoyed the opportunity to dip their paws in, were groomed and wet down! It's been very quiet for viewings and homings recently, but today the phone was busy with several viewings booked for the next few days. Fingers crossed that some of our lovely boys and girls will get red or green signs. Barney and Marge are still out on foster, please don't be put off by 'foster', both of these dogs are up for homing. If you are interested in one of them and would like more information please call the kennels. If you would like to view either of them we can arrange for them to either be brought into kennels or for a meeting in a mutually convenient location. There are still spaces available for the photoshoot on Sunday and also for Tina's reiki sessions also on Sunday. Tina is raising funds to help with Caesar's ongoing treatment. Go on give it a go, you will feel greyt afterwards, relaxed and rejuvenated and you will be helping raise funds to give a gorgeous boy a well deserved chance of a long life ahead. Bookings via the kennels on 0121 782 7702. As always stay safe and well all, hopefully we are nearly near the end of this. X

Daybreaks Diary!

A much better day today. :)) Previous Daybreaks resident Bea and her family came to use the sand run. it was lovely to see them and Bea looked great and so happy. 🙂 We do love to hear how the Daybreaks Dogs are getting on in their new homes. Xxx Thank you so much to those who dropped in donations of bedding and came in to say hello to our residents. We had a lovely Greyhound ornament donated to us to sell in our next Auction. Thank you. Xxx We had great fun this afternoon getting some of the dogs to model coats and pyjamas that have been donated. They will also soon be available to purchase. Roxie looks especially glamorous in a blue sheep print outfit! :)) Skip modelled something similar, but with flowers on! :)) Thanks so much to Lucy for taking the fabulous photos. Xxx Thanks so much to everyone for your help, everyone enjoyed their walks today. 🙂 All meals were gratefully consumed and treats devoured! :)) Xxx

With one thing and another it was a difficult day at the kennels today. I am so grateful for all the help and support from Yvonne, Gloria and Myra. Xxx I know it was disappointing for the England football team last night but if you are interested we do still have some lovely England car stickers with three Greyhounds instead of three lions on, and it is the World Cup next year! :)) Hoping some of our girls and boys will soon find their forever homes. Sadly our waiting list is beginning to get longer. :(( Xxx

@Shanesmum. He was a pleasure to be with 🙂 I should have mentioned in my last post that there was also a cat in the park. He saw us coming and sank lower and lower into the long grass. It was so funny. I don't think Billy noticed him, but if he did, he certainly didn't react! Billy's a really sweet boy, who I'm sure will love life in a home once he has picked the right family for him xx

A Doberman , a German Shep and a Greyhound are all in a bar and the Doberman says "God told me I was the most fearless dog ever" , The German Shepherd says " God told me I was the most Loyal dog ever" The greyhound sits back finishes his drink , falls to sleep for a moment and then when he wakes up hes says "I don't remember saying any of that"? Hope everyone is OK Jess and Celia are loving the walks with the guys at work
