Thankyou Elizabeth for taking this gorgeous boy out to the park - and it sounds like he was a star! He was really quite a stressed boy on arrival and just after, but it seems like he is starting to relax a bit now and get to grips with his new surroundings. Such an affectionate soul, he's lovely. xx

Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
A crazily busy day, thanks to Denise, Dave and Alison for their help today and also to Liz who took the very handsome Billy for an outing to the park, he was an absolute star and has a glowing report, he was also very tired upon his return. He met varying different breeds and was fantastic. All dogs got morning walks, this afternoon the had some 'chill out' time in the outside runs. It was nail cutting in abundance, this is my favourite part of my job!!!! The sand run was fully booked up today, please remember to book well in advance to avoid disappointment. Time to pour a nice glass of wine or two, if you are watching the match enjoy. Someone said to one of my sons that in our house, it will, either way be a win, win situation (Anglo and Italian roots in the family)! Take care, stay safe and well, hopefully normality is just around the corner :)))

Finn (Phoenix)
I’m Homed
It was lovely to see Phoenix this morning, although I am disappointed for him that it didn't work out this time. He was having a great time with Topsy demanding as much fuss as I could provide in their shared kennel. I actually took Phoenix to Elmdon Park last weekend. He enjoyed the change of scene and having a taste of life beyond the kennels. We met a variety of other dogs. He was a bit reactive to start with, but this did calm down as the walk went on. I'm sure with a few more visits, he'll learn the ropes. He's a sweet boy. I have everything crossed that the right home for him comes along soon xx

Topsy
I’m Homed
Topsy is a fuss monster! She seemed very happy to be back with Phoenix and together they make a very handsome pair. The only complaint they have is that I don't have enough hands. One each to fuss them obviously isn't enough, as Topsy was also pawing me through the bars for even more. She's a sweet little girl xx

The very handsome Billy came for a walk with me this morning to Elmdon Park. He seemed a little shy when I went into his kennel to lead him up, but he was soon giving kisses and demanding fuss. He is a very happy boy, who positively bounces along. He walked very well and coped with lots of different dogs. He came nose to nose with a westie and a pug. On both occasions he behaved impeccably. We also walked past a variety of dogs, with him showing nothing more than a passing interest. In fact, after a quick sniff, he often ignored them completely. He's a super lad xx

Happy 5th birthday Harry! A year on and you really are enjoying life and are very laid back. So much so that you can’t be bothered to chase cats or squirrels,in fact I’m more interested in catching them than you are.You are brilliant at everything that’s asked of you, and naturally amazing with the grandkids who love you to bits.It will soon be holiday time again in the caravan which you love, and we’re all looking forward to enjoying it with you x

Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
It was a very quiet day today. Dave & I gave our residents a lovely walk this morning. New boys Mikey & Billy were both on "full alert" with ears pricked as they took in their new surroundings. As you would expect of a youngster, Mikey was very keen to be off exploring and sticking his head into everything!! He trots along rather than walks, and does like to weave in front of you - all the better to check out both sides of the road!! Billy is still quite a stressed boy bless him, but he seemed to enjoy his walk and walked nicely. With so few doggies and customers, we were able to get health checks & teeth cleaning done, and Dave gave the office a lovely spring clean. It was sand run playtime this afternoon, except for poor Roxie who although nearly able to have full walks following her spey, can't go off lead in the run due to her recovering injury. She is desperate to have a run & play bless her, but made do with dedding a toy she found as we were walking the perimeter of the sand run! Leo had great fun running and playing with the toys, I took a video of him and will get Michael to upload it to the Facebook page. Topsy also had a good play and a run - as did both new boys, although there was no mistaking when Billy had had enough - he ran up to the exit gate and stood staring at it!! The only down side of today was the very sad return of the lovely Phoenix to Daybreaks. HIs Mum stressed it was in no way due to any fault of his, just sadly things were not working within the family and it was felt it was better all round if he came back. We have popped him back in the kitchen kennel with ex kennel mate Topsy - she was very excited to see him again and they are happily settled together for the night. Here's hoping we can find another home for him soon. Incredibly the weekend is here again - don't know where the time is going to. The diary looks quite busy so keep fingers crossed that we see some red signs by Monday. Whatever you are up to, as always, stay distanced, stay safe - I will be raising a glass of chilled white wine later to Daybreaks boys & girls and wishing forever homes for them all. Cheers! Angie xx

Very sadly Phoenix has come back to Daybreaks today. His owners would like to stress he has done absolutely nothing wrong but there have been some family issues. They hope he will soon find his forever home and are sad it cannot be with them. Xxx Topsy was very happy to see him, she has her kennel mate back! Xxx

Roxie
Over the Rainbow Bridge
When Yvonne came to clean Roxie's kennel this moring she found the bed was soaking wet. At first we thought poor little Roxie had wet the bed but we soon realised the bedding was far too wet for that. Thanks to Richard and Declan for scrambling onto the roof of the kennels and found it had been leaking during the very wet weather last night! :(( Thankfully they managed to fix the problem and Roxie was able to go back to a nice dry bed! :)).
