Welcome to the new arrivals, what a beautiful group of boys and girls they look, and also what a great adventure to go on - a trip to the hairdresser (something I could do with now!!). They must have made quite a sight queueing up for their turn! Fingers crossed for them all to find their forever homes soon. Sending my love to Ruth, Kate, Jo and all the volunteers who are taking care of these hounds - hoping to be back with you soon. Xx

I walked Nidge and Sarah together today. After the initial excitement of getting out of the kennels, they walked very well. They make a gorgeous pair. They also travelled together very well to Pets At Home for their baths. I'm not sure that either of them were impressed though by the blow dry. Bless them!! Xx

Magoo was such a good boy whilst waiting for his bath today at Pets At Home. He didn't bat an eyelid when a Jack Russell puppy sauntered past. He likes his hugs too xx

Daybreaks Diary!

What a whirlwind of a day! A call first thing this morning as unfortunately Cora had managed to tear her dressing off her leg so I headed off to collect her from her foster home and get her to the vets in Moseley. She unfortunately has been admitted and hopefully being operated on tomorrow. On the way back to the kennels I stopped off at Pets at Home as we had a very generous lifelines voucher of over £2,000 to spend so I purchased 4 new crates and two pet gates. We loan these out to foster homes so they are vital to our work and the ones I purchased many years ago are becoming very battered! I also bought some toys and treats for the current inmates. On arrival back at the kennels I was told that the water had been turned off due to a burst pipe at the B&B and therefore only two dogs had been bathed. Therefore next on the agenda was a trip to the Groom Room at Pets at Home, again using our voucher and treated the other 6 to a bath and pamper session! Elizabeth helped with the transport - thank you! Back at the kennels and I saw the lovely Rosie and Jim who are out on foster. I removed Rosie's staples and new collars were purchased.... hmmmm that usually is a good sign!!!!!! Poor Richie is a bit stressed so he has had some calming tablets but he would certainly benefit from a foster home. He was so very good today seeing other breeds . The newbies are absolutely gorgeous and I will add some new photos in the comfort of my own home! Peaky is coming home with me still - ooooh I am so tempted - heart says go on but head says NO!!!! 🙂

Daybreaks Diary!

Our eight new boys and girls arrived this evening around 5pm. :)) They had started their journey from Ireland at the weekend. A lovely gentleman delivered them to us. It was lovely to meet each one as they came off the van. They all had a stroll around the sand run to stretch their legs and have a much needed wee! 🙂 As it was getting quite late they all had dinner and were allocated a nice warm kennel. Xxx Lots of bathings to be carried out tomorrow! All paperwork was sorted and they were tucked up for the night. Ruth took a lovely video of them all before we left. Xxx Thanks so much to Shirley, Richard, Lucy and Jayne for all their help today. Xxx Have just checked the cameras and they all seem settled. Bless :)) Xxx
