We are looking for a special home for our little Scruff! She is very sweet petite, happy and bouncy! She would be great fun to have around and certainly brighten up your day. :)) She would probably be happier in a home with another dog for company or someone who is at home most of the time. Scruff is a very cuddly girl and her name does suit her! :)) Xxx

It was Roxy's turn for her neutering operation today. She was very interested in the outside world and stood looking out of the car window for most of the journey. 🙂 She was a little wobbly when I picked her up this evening. She will be going home on Thursday, how exciting! :)) We had a very pretty new arrival this afternoon. Little Lou! Have just checked her on the cameras. She seems quite settled. Bless her! Xxx It was another dreary day but thanks so much to our volunteers who made sure the dogs had morning and afternoon walks. The sun almost made an appearance this afternoon, but is was quite a brief interlude and if you blinked at the wrong time you missed it! 🙂 Xxx

Lou is a very pretty girl. Her Trainer says she prefers her own company and he doesn't think she will be cat friendly. Xxx

He He! Yesterday I kept sniffing around asking for food! I would not get out the kitchen as I kept refusing so mom had to grab a treat to get me out! The funny thing is as she got some out I ran off with the bag and left her with the couple in her hand! Unfortunately the bag was taken off me a few seconds after! Barney Xx

I'm sure Ruth's decision to become independent will enable Daybreaks to do even more to help Greyhounds find their forever homes. It just means the kennels become personal to everyone and your support in whatever way will make a huge difference to the lives of those who find themselves in our care. Xxx

Well done to everyone who organised Saturday evening. Lots of money raised to help our lovely Greyhounds! Xx It was a very damp day at the kennels. However the dogs did get two walks.:) Scruff went off to the vets with Sue this morning. She was having the first part of her vaccination. Sue said she was a really good girl. Poor little soul cried when she had her injection. 🙁 She has to go back for the second part in a few weeks time....hope she forgets her trip today! Many thanks to Sue for taking her for us. Xx Thanks so much to everyone who helped out today. It was a quiet day for visitors, Bella gave the kitchen a good clean and sorted all the food out. Dave unpacked the boxes of goodies I collected yesterday. 🙂 Thank you to Myra and Alan for bringing in a donation of bedding and coats from a lady who recently lost her Greyhound. Sending her lots of love. Xx Xxx .

Exciting news! Today I made a big decision which will change the future of Daybreaks. With much thought, after 13 years of being a branch of the Greyhound Trust National Charity, I have decided that from 1st January 2020, Daybreaks will become its own independent charity. By taking this step, it will allow me personally to make decisions directly affecting the kennels for the best care of the greyhounds in my trust. An official launch party will be announced in the next few months and hope you will join us to celebrate our independence. Thank you for your support so far, I really hope you will continue to support Daybreaks on our journey forward. Ruth xxx

Well done all for a fantastic amount raised you're all brilliant! Have you tell you about my boy last night, our baby girl decided sleep wasn't for her last night and while daddy carried on snoring all the way through as normal, mommy was incredibly tired and back and forth like a yoyo which as im sure some of you know is vile in the night and gets you down, but god bless jet must have realised as for the first time everytime i got up and sat in her room feeding her, i could see this little face appear round the door and in he'd come and lie by me as if to say its ok mom, we'll do it together! Really touched me just how loyal he is (as are all greys!) And how he always knows how to pick me up when i feel abit down! Mia loves him too and feed him a biscuit the other night, now normally he is abit quick taking food off us but he was so gentle with her and took it out of her hand like a dream...that's going to be a fabulous friendship as she grows up! Love him sooooo much xxxxx

Ooooo my Mags litter sister, Mags came to live with me last year after refusing to chase (she's making up for it now), I'm sure that Shelly will be as lovely and naughty as Mags, just watch your TV remote - Mags had 3 before I remembered to always hide them 🙂 xx

I am absolutely over the moon to be able to let you know that Saturday night's Countdown to Christmas raised the incredible sum of £1015.62 - THANK YOU!!!! Huge thanks go to the stallholders, everyone who helped out on the door, selling raffle tickets, sorting the food, my cast for a fab floorshow but most of all to you - our supporters & friends - for making it such a successful evening. We are so very grateful, and are looking forward to bringing you some more great events in the future. It may be a bit early, but Merry Christmas one and all! Angie xxx
