Rio
Over the Rainbow Bridge
I visited Rio and Ella's Mom and Dad today. They very kindly had boxes of goodies for me to collect. Rio and Ella looked fantastic and were very happy! Ella obviously thought I needed an extra wash as she made sure I was licked clean! :)) xx A huge thank you to Phil and Sylvia for all the fabulous donations of food, treats and all sorts of things for the Greyhounds and volunteers! 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

It was a lovely eve last night at the Fayre. I would just like to thank every single person who bought all of my crackers, cakes & gifts. I was so touched and truly appreciated the nice comments about my marzipan & icing. Although I have made Christmas cakes lots of times this was the first time I have attempted my own marzipan & icing so was a bit apprehensive & therefore appreciative of people's comments when eating the samples!! As no one genuinely seemed to think I should do anything different with the recipes for them I will make some again next year hopefully!!! I was grateful to have 2 muffins unsold as it meant I could actually try my own efforts today and I thought it was quite a nice recipe so would make those again....chocolate cranberry & orange....they might appear at Santa Paws on 8 Dec. I was delighted with the monies I raised for DB so hope it helps in some tiny way. A real pleasure to be a tiny cog in the ever large wheel that helps keep the kennels turning. Thank you again to all of our truly wonderful supporters!!! X

Really looking forward to taking Artie home next weekend. She is such a sweet soul and I’m sure her and Marty will get on just great. She will be moving to a farm so we hope we can give her a super retirement with plenty to explore.

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

We had lots of lovely volunteers today, so the residents had morning and afternoon walks. We had several viewings too. All prospective homers went away to make some difficult decisions as to who the lucky hound/s may be. It was very cold again, I felt it more so as I forgot to change from my trainers to thermal socks and my boots before setting off to the kennels this morning. I blame being tired after last night's Countdown to Christmas event. It was very late when I got home, not because of clearing up but more to do with chatting (and drinking) with the bar staff and manager of the rugby club! This brings me on to..... Many thanks to everyone who gave up their time to come and help. I won't mention individuals as I don't want to miss anyone out, however, I would like to thank Louise who got stuck in with cooking the food for the hot element of the buffet with me. Thanks too to the stall holder's. Angie as ever put on a fab mini show, not that I got to see it (I did see the run through though). Most of all, thank you all for coming and supporting Daybreaks and for the kind comments regarding the night in general. It was a hit of a different theme but it seemed to go down well. As Angie posted earlier, when she has a total of takings we will let you know. The staff at the ruby club were great, hopefully we can work closely with them in the future and put on some more events. Once again, thank you all so very much for supporting us, it was a greyt turnout . Jo x

Tommy update....he is doing really well, getting lots of love and cuddles. There may be a problem with getting one of his human sisters to school tomorrow though (she doesn't want to be parted from him!

Sally is really settled now . She has started playing slot more and running round the garden . Sally and Bobby are always together. At night they sleep together on the sofa . Sally also likes to take items from around the house to put in her bed . The draft excluder seems to be her choice at the moment . Sally loves her walks and is such a joy to have in our house . Sally is our beautiful princess .xxxxx
