Tig (Tiger)

Just an Update on Tiger, he was little disorientated yesterday afternoon when we got him home but he soon settled and was very playful and just wanted cuddles! He Had a fairly settled night except howling to wake us this morning to make sure he wasn’t on his own ????! He’s a great addition to our family!

Walked Kristoff today. He's lovely and walked very well on a loose lead. All of the dogs made us laugh today as there was a man mowing the rugby pitch with a push mower and you could see the dogs trying to work out what type of dog he was walking! He'll make a super companion. Hope he finds his forever home soon. x

Meena

Took Meena out for a walk. She was a little jumpy at first, especially when lorries drove past. Walked beautifully the whole time, getting on with her new kennel mate too.

Took this lad for a walk today. He walks at the end of his lead, but doesn't pull hard. Seems to be getting on with his new kennel mate.

Such a character! Took her for a walk today. Tail was high and wagging the whole way. Very, very inquisitive. Had a good sniff of everything. Love her little "bound" when we walked fast.

I’m Homed
It was chilly, grey & gloomy today - but it was a lovely day despite that working with our beautiful boys and girls. Jo was off early on the Vet run, taking sweet little Tatty to be speyed. She is such a gorgeous little girl and I'm so happy she has been reserved. She was quite bright on her return this afternoon and enjoyed her bowl of dinner before re-joining kennel mate Scruff to settle down for the night. x I met our 3 latest new arrivals - a lovely trio indeed. Roxy is such a pretty little thing - and has spent most of the day taking her coat off!! We pop into the kennel to put it back on her, but next time you look it's off again! Think she enjoys this game of "how many times can I get someone to come into my kennel and give me a fuss!" Quiet day for visitors, but this afternoon saw the handsome Tiger happily trot off to his new home. Wishing him and his new family lots of good times together. Many thanks for everyone's help today, doggies had 2 walks and some sand run playtime too. Another weekend is upon us - I seriously cant believe how fast the time is flying by. We have some viewings booked so fingers crossed that we see another red sign. Tickets for "Countdown to Christmas" are still available - come and join us for a great start to the festive season. A nice glass of red wine later methinks - to toast our kennel full of beauties and wish them all forever homes soon. Whatever you're doing this weekend, enjoy and keep warm. Cheers! Angie xx

Met Sparky yesterday for the first time. What a lovely lad he is too, calm friendly and his combination of black and white is beautiful. I could see the resemblance to Roy and Saddle. I have a feeling he won't wait too long for a home as he's a happy boy. His kennel mate Meena is lovely too, they make a greyt pair xx

I agree with rubytwoshoes, Evie is a funny little girl! She was great company at the vets today. We had to wait a while to see the vet, Evie spent most of the time trying to sit on my knee or looking out of the window to see what was going on. 🙂 She is a lively happy little soul who just wants to be loved and cuddled. She would bring lots of fun to someone's home! Hoping her forever home is just around the corner. Xxx

A busy day...gorgeous little Tatty was reserved this morning. :)) She will have a Greyhound brother and two Greyhound sisters! Xx Evie had the second part of her vaccination. She really is a happy girl! She travelled very well in the car to the vets only needing a little help to get in. All she needs now is her forever home. :)) We had several people come to meet the dogs. Thanks to Helen for introducing them to our current residents. Xx Richard and Declan had an exciting trip to the tip! It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it!! :)) Thanks so much chaps! Xxx We had another very pretty new arrival, Roxy is a lovely girl. She has had a long racing career, so now it's time for her to put her paws up on her own special sofa, eating biscuits! Her Trainer says she is partial to shapes biscuits. Xx Thanks so much to everyone for their help today and to everyone who brought in donations of food. Xx Alan and Paddy came in armed with donuts! :)) Thank you. Xx Sara's Dad brought Louis in for a visit. Kristoff was introduced to Louis, he was brilliant with him. :)) Xxx

Macca has also been losing weight and has protein in his urine. Our vets suspected kidney problems, but they checked his blood pressed and found it was quite high. Hes now on medication for it, and has put on 1kg in a week (hes also been eating loads of pasta, that may have something to do with it!). His urine will be checked again in a couple of weeks. I hope everything turns out well for your little girl

I’m Homed
Thanks as always to our Wednesday walkers. Although it was chilly it stayed dry until the last afternoon walks, and then it wasn't too wet. There were only a couple of visitors so fairly quiet on that front. I got to meet Sparky and Meena, they are both so gorgeous and have paired up beautifully together. There is really not much else to report. Don't forget we still have tickets available for our Countdown to Christmas event on 23 November at Birmingham Exiles Rugby Club. If you can't make it to the kennels to get a ticket you can pay over the phone by card. We also have Christmas cards and calendars for sale (you may want to check out Mr June, it is my Flloyd, Lucy took the wonderful photo at our birthday party, I'm biased I know). There is a lovely photo of Sara who very sadly passed away in April, it's worth getting one just for that beautiful photo. It has started to get chilly at night, the dogs have some heaters on in the kennel blocks and I am trying to get my feet warm!

Really sorry your girl has this condition. I’ve not had any experience of it nor have I come across anyone who has. I just wanted to say the vets at Willows are usually top class and I hope they can come up with something to help her. It must be such a worry. Try to stay strong (easier said than done I know) x

Lots of lovely helpers today, thanks everyone! 🙂 Shirley, Richard and Declan had a trip to the warehouse this afternoon and I think there is an exciting visit to the tip planned for Thursday! :)) Sparky and Meena are settling down well. They are sharing a kennel and seem to like each other's company. Xx It was good to see Ruth, Tig and Momma today. Tig is quite grown up now!! It was lovely to see her run so very fast in the sand run. Her leg looks great. Xxx Lots of fireworks going off when I left the kennels this evening, but the residents were quite relaxed listening to Classic FM. :)) All looked calm when I checked the cameras throughout the evening. Hopefully most of the fireworks have been lit by now!! I am hoping to be able to get my space on the sofa back from Fletch soon. :))) Xxx
