Oh Teddy. So wonderful to hear how you are getting on. Living the vida loca, what a lucky boy. Just goes to show that even one of our longer stayers gets snapped up and gets to live the high life. Hope your mom and dad are well too. X

    I’m Homed

Hello. Skip speaking. I've been very poorly again but am getting better. 2 weeks ago I had a spinal stroke. Mummy and Daddy just thought I'd pulled a muscle and was doing the GSOD. We weren't near home so Daddy took me to a local vet. Everything went woozy from then as I was given something Daddy said was methodone. To stop the pain. Daddy was told it was very serious and I might be paralysed so needed to go to see a neurologist at Willows which is my own vet anyway. I had an MRI and the neurologist told Mummy on the phone it was likely I'd had a spinal stroke. She said chances of a full recovery we're good. I stayed there for 24 hours then was picked up by Mummy, Daddy, Robert and Sam and we went on holiday to see Maisie Grey and ower Monts at their paradise caravan site. We had such fun even though i couldnt walk far and I'm on 4 weeks rest. I've had 2 sessions of physio. Mummy and Daddy have been told recovery is a slow process but I can increase my walking time. I like the physio lady. She gives me gravy bones and laser treatment. Mummy and Daddy and the physio lady have to wear silly glasses! She's given Mummy and Daddy fun exercises for me to do. Sam copies. Walking over poles and walking in a figure of 8. We're on holiday again for the next 2 weeks. Can't wait as Sam and me get to sleep on the bed with Mummy and Daddy in our own house on wheels. Yippee. I'll tell you all about it when we get home. Love Skippy Doo Dahs (as Mummy and Daddy call me!) x

A very warm day for doggies and people! We did one walk as it was too hot later in the afternoon. I actually got chance to go on three walks and had the pleasure of taking Betty Wendy and Robbie. Both girls walk beautifully on the lead. 🙂 Wendy likes to keep checking you are still there and looks up at you. Robbie, well he loves going for a walk and keeps a brisk pace...but not keen on coming back! If you like walking Robbie is for you. :)) He is a great training partner! Thanks so much to Bella, Lucy, James and Helen for all their help today. Xxx

She’s home, she’s home, she’s home and she’s brought me some dog biscuits from corsa! I thought that was a car but apparently it’s part of Frank - whoever he is! TC had failed to notice the fishes were swimming in soup and no pumping noise while mom was missing so PANIC as mom set up a new tank to save them! Seems to have worked so far, phew! Mom says we might go to see Barney next weekend, hurrah! Lubs Florence. Xx

Well my family disappeared for a week. Apparently they went on another one of those silly cruises. Don’t see the point really. Anyway they have now returned and picked me up early straight after their flight. I’m now just excited to go away with my family for a few days. We can all be together. It’s also great to see Auntie Klaire when I got home I always get so excited to see her. If all goes well Florence maybe coming over to see me soon. Barney Xx

We had this gorgeous boy at home with us for 2 nights, each side of me taking him to the vet's on Friday to be neutered. He is such a lovely lad, loving his fuss (and having wonderful jaw chattering at the same time),and thoroughly enjoying his walk on Thursday. He and our 3 greys settled after a few hours and were then as if they'd known each other all their lives. He learned the stairs within 12 hours of being with us but was not going to make the effort to jump in the back of the car so I got to practise my lifting technique! He is very inquisitive but once he has sniffed everything out, lies quietly and seems very content. We had a few wee accidents but as it's his first time in a house, I'm sure he'll improve with more time. He is really gorgeous and I highly recommend him 🙂

    I’m Homed

We were quite for volunteers this morning, so some dogs had walks down the lane and the more vocal residents had some fun in the run in between the bookings we had to use it. Lorna had 2 papers this morning. Skye came excitedly up the drive thinking she was going in the run, she was very disappointed to find out that that wasn't going to be the case. Jess Lorna's next booking was really not bothered when it was her turn. It was lovely to welcome Henry and Alice back after their break to study and take their A levels and GCSE exams respectively. Good luck to them with their results. We had several visitors to use the run, including the gorgeously cute little Italian greyhound Hugo. He is a bundle of fun and excitement and absolutely loves everyone he meets. You certainly get a thorough washing from him! Thank too for the donations of bedding and a dog bed. Little Betty who was sadly returned yesterday melted the hearts of a lovely couple who had been to look at a non greyhound elsewhere and decided as they were passing to just pop in and 'have a look'. They absolutely fell in love with her and reserved her. Pending a home check she will be going home very shortly, I suspect she will be well and truly spoilt. I hope this helps her previous owner to know she will be very much loved and that her stay at the kennels will hopefully be a short one. X Dewey is still very quiet, she did manage to eat a little more today, she is such a lovely hound as are all our residents, they all just need a forever home. Here's hoping for a good week ahead and more reservations and homings. It was great to see Sam and Skip this afternoon, Skip looks really well after the shock of him suffering a spinal stroke recently. You really could not tell he had been so poorly. Thanks to everyone for their help today.

I am so happy to see this beautiful girl has been reserved, sounds like she is very well behaved and has a lovely temperament, I hope her previous owners take some comfort from this, as it was clearly a choice they found difficult to make, best wishes to you all xxxx

    I’m Homed

A strange day, lots of visitors this morning but very quiet this afternoon, Just Jess and I towards the end of the day. 🙂 Managed walks this morning, but not enough of us to do walks this afternoon. 🙁 It was sad to have another returnee. Betty is a lovely girl. Do hope she will find another home as soon as possible. Xxx Our waiting list grows ever longer, we now have around 80 dogs waiting for their chance of a forever home. :(( Jess had a gorgeous Border Collie arrive for a pamper! He had a good race around the sand run first and then the bath. :)) It was nice to see some old friends today, Sue, Steve and their two lovely girls Ebony and Tessa popped in and Star came in with his Mom and Dad for nail clipping. He has been with them four years this week. :)) Xx Fingers crossed for homes for all of our current residents very soon. Xxx

Absolutely heartbreaking return our beloved Betty to the kennels today. She has been the most beautiful girl to have in our lives for the past 2 and a half years. Sadly our circumstances and home environment have changed drastically since DaveK (commenter below) and I welcomed her into our home, while she has stayed the same lovely girl all along. It has been one of the hardest decisions we have made and she will be very much missed indeed. I can’t imagine she will be back at the kennels long, she has the sweetest nature and a natural in the home environment. She is guaranteed to make her new family very happy. Love you lots Betty xxxxx

That was like us, my husband wanted a Labrador but i will only have rescue animals but the amount of red tape made it impossible and the greyhound breed was my choice and thank goodness now we have jet who couldn't be more perfect! Yes mom said it was lovely chatting to you and always comes back with pictures of the dogs to show me! Wish we could take dogs to work!xxx

Mom has disappeared! I haven’t seen her for days and days and days. TC says she’s on a ship with Auntie Deborah, Uncle Ian and cousin Samantha. Why would she want to do that? I went to look at the sea but couldn’t see her. Every day I wait for her to come home. I am following TC everywhere to make sure he doesn’t sneak off too. I hope Auntie Ruth is feeling OK and is fully recovered soon. Lubs to all. Florence xxx
