Very sadly, due to a change in her owners circumstances Betty has been returned to the kennels today. She is a lovely girl, so hopefully it wont be long before she finds another home. Xxx

Hi Lucy, yes we had a great time talking about Greyhounds at Hair'em Scair'em!! It was because of my Hairdresser, Nikki that I had a Greyhound. I was desperate to have a dog but because I worked, most rescue centres said no 🙁 Nikki said had heard the Greyhound Trust would consider homing a dog to people who worked....a few months later I had my beautiful Twiggy! It was lovely to meet your Mom, our Hairdressers is really dog friendly, Chris the owner has six rescue dogs, there is always one or two of them there to cuddle while you wait to have your hair cut!! :))) Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Good grief did it rain today!!??!! Not surprisingly the boys & girls didn't venture outside their comfy kennels this morning, except for some "wee" time in the feeding runs! This meant we could get on and do the health checks and weight checks, and I could continue with my blitz of the doggy kitchen! It's amazing what you find!! Fortunately the rain did stop by lunch time and it dried up quite nicely so we could get an afternoon walk done. We were very short of help today, so I had the chance to go out on the walks - something I haven't done for ages. I walked my mate Eric and the gorgeous Razzle. Eric has improved so much and very rarely pulled, except when something very interesting presented itself like a bag blowing in the wind!! Razzle walks beautifully, trotting along by your side. On the second walk I took Willis and Dewey. For a big fella, Willis walks like a dream, and little Dewey trotted alongside him all the way. She is still quite worried and is not eating well, but she seems to like the company of another dog and kept close to Willis. We didn't have one visitor today - can't say I am surprised as the weather was awful, I wouldn't go out either!! Many thanks to Bella & Chris who braved the elements to give us a hand today - we would have been lonely without you!! Another weekend is upon us, we have a roadshow at Webbs of Wychbold on both Saturday and Sunday so lets hope the weather improves a bit and encourages people to attend. There is also a viewing booked for tomorrow so fingers crossed that one of our residents will soon be displaying a red sign. It's red wine today as the weather has been so miserable, but my usual wish for homes for our boys and girls stays the same. Cheers one and all - have a great weekend. Angie xx

Dewey (Dew)

Dewey is such a lovely little girl, she is rather nervous with everything at the moment and not eating too well but hopefully she will soon settle back into the kennel environment. We have paired her up with our wonderfully gorgeous lad Willis. He has been great with her so far and she seems to like him. Anyone who has met Willis knows what a gentle giant he is....Dewey has the big bed to herself and he has the smaller raised bed! He is the perfect gentleman. They make a very handsome couple indeed. Fingers crossed they continue to get on well together. Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

We had a message from Rose's (Blossom) new family today to say how well she is doing. She and Maggie are getting on so well together. :)) It was lovely walking weather today 🙂 Many thanks to all our volunteers for taking our residents for morning and afternoon walks. Xx Richard, Alan and Declan went off to the warehouse for us at lunchtime. 🙂 While Lucy had a visit from Hugo the Beagle for a pamper. He was very cute! 🙂 Thanks so much to Jess, Lucy and Ellie for taking Annie for a trip to the park. I'm sure a wonderful, understanding home is out there for her. Xx It was donut Thursday today! Thanks to Alan and Paddy! :)) Xxx

Annie joined myself and Lucy - along with Ellie belly. For a walk in Elmdon. We had a lovely walk around the pond and back up the hill, we passed various sized off lead dogs. In which Annie found very exciting! We then passed some Swans and their babies which she must’ve sensed not to go too close too. By the end of the walk we managed to walk past some small dogs, with out too much of a reaction but Annie needs someone to help her adjust to the outside world. I will try and take her out more often - she will join myself on the Brueton walk on the 28th July. 🙂

Always lol! Hes had his dads Chinese spare ribs tonight! Im vegetarian but my husband isn't so bless him, they all line up next to him at the table to eat his dinner...i get peace and quoet!xxx
