Am absolutely delighted for this lad. I met your parents when they were talking through fostering but from the massive smile on their faces and the way they were cuddling you I had a good feeling you would not be returning!!! I hope your tail is now well on the mend and wish all of you many, many happy years together. Xx

On Saturday we had to say goodbye to our beautiful Badger. She lost the use of her back legs and sadly there was no way back. She was a huge character and the sassiest greyhound I have known. She adored people and would probably have preferred to have her humans to herself, rather than being one of four. I want to say rest easy sweetheart, but I suspect she is causing havoc wherever she is. I have spent the last seven years picking white hair off my clothes and am utterly heartbroken that I will never have to do that again. Jane xx

This little girl is, as LM says, such a sweetheart. Initially, I thought she might be my long lost grandgirl but sadly she isnt. She is the image of my Melly and has melted my heart but like LM I cant have 3 again. She is always so gentle when I go into her kennel and never complains when Debs butts in to get a kiss & cuddle. She is always good when being walked. I havent been with her around any other dogs other than the kennel residents so I cant comment. I am hoping that she will not be waiting too much longer for her retirement sofa. She so deserves it.

NMD07, I remember Jato & Breeze vaguely. The pooches that belong to the roadshow guys are certainly horizontal!!! I can understand why they are an excellent advert but they are very experienced at being on show. I remember some of them from when they were younger, long before I was volunteering and I would see them in Mell Square. I could just take my Melly as he is so chilled but it is nice to get the kennel residents out even for a short while to experience new sounds etc. I was worried a few weeks ago about Nerys being overlooked as she was shy & is a very placid girly but she has come along leaps & bounds & has proved she has a fun & cheeky side so I am delighted she got to go to Melbicks as all it takes is the right place at the right time. I am thrilled for her. They are all great and have their own individual quirks but there are always 1 or 2 who just need a little extra help sometimes because they are a bit shy & uncertain in the outside world. Am now praying for Treaty & Daisy to find their forever sofas. Both very different but very loving. We would scoop all of them up if we could wouldnt we.

    I’m Homed

Lovely Treaty came with me to Sheldon Country Park today. He was very happy to be out of his kennel but a bit bemused about getting in the car. Luckily he didn't mind being manhandled in and once in, he settled quickly and was no trouble at all. He walks very well and for the first half was very quiet. He found his voice in the second half when we saw some other dogs. However, as he didn't actually pull, I can only assume he just likes the sound of his own voice!! He's a very friendly boy, who likes his cuddles and fuss. Hoping he'll have a if a to call his own soon xx

Siren medley- we are living proof that both road shows and the walks both work. We knew that Archive was moving in for over 12 months but Breeze was lying on the pavement outside pets at home in Stratford when I met her, and Jato was attending the Stratford walk with I think Paddy and his mom and dad, when my hubby fell in love all three of them are asleep on various beds dotted around the house !!! Xxxx

    I’m Homed

Well another 'what was with the weather today'??? Many thanks to all who took a kennel dog on the Sheldon Country Park walk today, sorry you got caught in the one of many hailstorm we had. Pearl went off to Melbicks to do her first road show bit, thanks Seanna for taking her. Those dogs who didn't get to go on the walk managed some sand run fun in between hail showers. After her visit to Melbicks yesterday, Nerys had a viewing this afternoon and has found herself reserved pending a home check :)) Thanks to our volunteers today for all their help, really appreciate it. I would like to say a BIG THANKS to Angie for organising yesterday's spring fayre and afternoon tea, it was lovely. Another week is upon us, hope it's a good one. X
