Can't believe another Birthday has arrived for our wonderful lad Fletch! He is six today! He has had a nice new collar and looks very handsome indeed. :)) As I write this he is laying on the sofa legs in the air and what looks like a big grin on his face. :)) We adore him; he is a big lad with a big heart. He loves Skip and Lyra. He plays with Lyra and puts up with her jumping all over him and generally being a pest as little sisters can sometimes be!! Lots and lots of love to him today and always. Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
Pretty little Rhaegal had her neutering operation today. She was very good in the car and she met two poodles at the vets with no trouble at all. 🙂 She had her dinner when she returned to the kennels and was soon settled on her bed. She will be going off to her new home soon. Xx Many thanks to Alan and Richard for going to the warehouse for us this morning. Thankfully the weather had improved from the earlier monsoon! Thanks so much to everyone for their help today. It was Donut day thanks to Alan :)) They were very much appreciated and cheered everyone up after getting very wet during feeding and cleaning first thing. Ruth brought Momma and Tig in and they stayed in the office . Tig was was a very good girl! Xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

I echo Rubytwoshoes comment. My Max was due to donate, but it was decided that he would not, he too has retired as he is soon 9 and would be unable to do so after this, and got his retirement present too! This is such a fantastic and worth while cause, each donation your dog makes can save up to 4 dogs. Please think about it if your dog is 25 kg or more. The blood bank will not make your dog do this if they are not at all happy. So Willow and Flloyd will carry on as long as they can. P.s they all receive a goody bag with treats and a bowl of Chappie, just like h hoomans with their tea and biscuits!

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Just wanted to say thanks to the marvellous blood bank nurses. Ash was due to donate, but was very nervous, they checked his heart rate and decided not to distress him, so he had a goody bag, lots of cuddles and was retired from further requests. He is 4 and has donated twice without too much hassle, but they always put the dogs welfare first. The totally laid back legend that is Charlie also made his last donation, having potentially saved the lives of 28 other dogs! He will be 9 this year, the nurses made a real fuss of him and he received a gift of a jar of treats with a tag saying Retired Life Saver. So proud of him. Thank you Blood Bank. x

Hello everyone. Amazing to see Rocky and Jet gone! Please be Treaty and Daisy next! So last week my sister went to Crufts!!! This meant loads of things for me! Did not take me long to run off with the bags and grab everything. Of course I did my recycling with them after. Not sure how happy my hoomans were. Looked like a shredder exploded. One bag was taken off me though. I heard my hoomans say it was my birthday present. Bit early. Anyway I soon found the food but before I got into it they were taken away! Not fair they were mine! I hope they haven’t eaten my food. I tried to help them with their dinner but that didn’t really work either. They said to me that “you don’t share yours” well I believe that’s different. Why should I share! Trying to get mummy to get me a brother or sister is proving to be difficult. I won’t give up! My hoomans are going to the afternoon tea! Hope they bring me back something! Lubs Barney Xx

On Monday our little lady went under the knife !! As before I said she had a scan and after the vets had another look they found an area that looked wrong ( easier way for me to discribe ) as no one was sure what was going on we were warned that it may be the worst outcome. Luckily it turned out she had already had surgery and the odd things found on the scan were scarring - so our little one is home she is wearing t - shirts to keep her pointy nose away from her stitches!! We don’t know why her temperature was going up but we know she is ok and guess that she had eaten something in the past that had to be retrieved!!! So fingers crossed she continues to recover as well as she is now. Xxxxx

Now Nicol has been reserved we need cute little Nerys to find her forever home too! She is a real character and it has been fantastic to see her confidence grow over the last few weeks. She and Nicol get along so well, it would be nice to see her find a home with a little friend to share her life with. I love her! Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Yesterday Treaty, Sam, Daisy and Debs all helped out at a Veterinary Acupuncture Training class. They were all brilliant, so patient while the students checked them over. :)) Treaty was found to have a couple of sore spots and we were asked for permission by the teacher to perform acupuncture on him. Treaty was calm and relaxed. Halfway through the treatment he lay down gently on the floor and enjoyed the experience. :)) The students were very interested in our Greyhounds and the work we all do to help them find homes after they finish racing. It was also good for us to see an alternative form of treatment being used to help the dogs. It was a long day for us all...thanks so much to Julie for doing all the driving. Xxx
