Just would like to thank you all for your kind remarks and of course not forgetting the great Daybreaks staff and helpers who turn what could be a very difficult time for the hounds into a positive one. We have been lucky to have had three super boys, the last one Blade who came for a week and stayed for six years. All three are still with us in spirit buried in their favourite viewing spots in the garden. For various reasons we are not ready for another dog, but Michelle had been watching him since he came into the kennels, and felt an emotional tie even though she had not met him and dared not. He came and went leaving quite an empty space in the home. Also it quickly became evident that Rocky had all the good traits of our three, and a couple of let us say interesting ones, ( he is not over keen on bikes, but I am not a fan either), it is as though they had sent him. So what could we do, but give him the key to the door. He Will be off to France soon for a break, lots of bikes and small handbag dogs, so plenty of desole and pardon but who cares, he’s a Rockstar.

Elizabeth thank you so much for taking this lovely boy out today. He is struggling a bit in the kennels at the moment, not eating too well and being a bit stressed. Yesterday morning I sat with him for a while and he tried his best to climb into my lap!! He is so handsome, and not a big fella, and it sounds like he enjoyed being away from the kennel environment. Let's hope he can find his forever home soo where he can start to relax. Xx

Mikey came for a walk with me today along some very muddy canals. To be fair, I hadn't expected a longer walk. He didn't really seem to want to walk to the car and once at the car, had no idea what to do then! Luckily he didn't mind being man handled into the boot and lay down straight away. Once at the canals, he was like a different dog. He was off like a rocket, walking at the full length of his lead, but not pulling. He turned his head a few times to look at me, almost to check that I was still on the other end of the lead. We came back through some fields and he (rather bemusedly) manages several kissing gates. He also came nose to nose with a medium sized dog with no problems whatsoever. He was a pleasure to be out and about with. With the spring in his step, I think he thoroughly enjoyed being out and about as well. He's a very handsome chap x
