I would like to echo Angies best wishes to Ruth for a speedy recovery, please Ruth take it easy, between us we can cope. X Lovely to see Rory's dad today to get some food, he is doing fantastically (Rory I mean)! Several visitors came in for food, don't forget we do have this on site to sell. Lovely as Angie said to see Treaty now Murphy off to his new home, he was so very interested in everything in the office, he was into everything! I seemed to spend a lot of time on the phone today, which was good and this resulted in a viewing tomorrow, pampers and new volunteers booked in over the next few days. A massive thanks to Angie and James for all their hard work today, I am also partaking in a glass or two of wine! Ruth take care we are thinking of you. Xxxx Jo xxxx

We had a furniture delivery today and Fat Neck Fin came off his bed to great the two delivery men as they stood in the hallway. I told them he's from Daybreaks RGT. He stroked him and said "He's erm, quite a big boy, erm quite bonny, quite filled out for a Greyhound isn't he? I could see he was trying to stop digging the hole he was in so I said "yes he is way past his racing weight I would think!" LOL poor Finn.x

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Well, where did that lovely sunny day come from? What a bonus after all the grey and dismal weather of the past week or so. Please join me in sending best wishes to Ruth, who was very poorly today and ended up with a visit to A&E. Fortunately she is back at home now tucked up in bed - take care and get well soon. It was a typical quiet Friday, so more sand run playtime for the Greys today. The new "meet and greet" area is really good, it meant we could have 2 dogs out at a time, the more energetic in the large area and the ones that just enjoy pottering about off lead and having a general mooch around in the smaller area. We had a visit from Jeanette, a Reiki practitioner, who spent some time working with Marty, Teddy, Mags and Roary. Reiki is a holistic Japanese healing method for stress reduction and relaxation. The Greys certainly enjoyed their time with Jeanette, and timid little Mags who is still so very nervous of life, was even pawing at her to carry on by the end of her session! Thank you Jeanette for your time today. This morning saw the lovely Treaty, now called Murphy, off to his new home. Jo and I made sure we had plenty of kisses off him before he left the premises - wishing him and his new family many happy years ahead. We had another visit from Sharon who took some photographs of the Greys in their kennels. The only problem she found was that every time she lined up a shot - the Grey would get up and come and have a nose at the camera lens!!! Kenny paid us another visit today, he is looking good and has put a little weight on already after changing his feeding regime last week - good boy. The weekend is upon us again, and we have viewings booked so fingers crossed. I am off now to have my usual Friday evening glass of wine - a reward after a busy day. Its the Great Greyhound Gathering tomorrow and some of our volunteers are organising the refreshments throughout the day. To everyone that is going, have a great day and do pop in for a cuppa! 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Sweet little Mags had her neutering operation today. She was very nervous and didn't want to get out of the car when we arrived at the vets. Bless her. All went well and she is tucked up in her kennel tonight. 🙂 Two more gorgeous new arrivals this morning, Bella and Rose, both very pretty girls. :)) Ballymac Victor who was on the website as "Coming Soon" has been found a home by his Trainer. We wish him a happy new life. 🙂 Ruth dragged Richard off to the sand run this morning and had him digging holes for the fencing! 🙂 Shirley's Greyhound Mervin was using the run at the time and raced over to offer his assistance! Later on Ruth had the lovely job of a trip to the tip! Such a glamorous life! xx Lucy and I had lots of cuddles with Treaty before we went home tonight. He is off to his new home in the morning. Xx Thanks to Sara for the new photos of the doggies...and thanks so much to everyone for their help today. 🙂 I have had to sit on the floor to write this diary update....both sofas have a Greyhound lying fully outstretched on them; on their backs with legs in the air! No room left for me or Lyra! :))) Bless them!! Xxxx Xxx
