Jack (James)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Hi Kate, after what has been a difficult weekend for us emotionally, I have spoken with the vet this morning. He says Jack had made more progress this weekend in how he is placing his feet (still supported). We went to see him Saturday and he seemed quite down, we tried to be positive but I think he picked up on our mood bless him, he seemed better on Sunday when we went, he is eating well but when the nurse and Ken carried him outside to see his progress I was shocked to see how thin he has become, he's a bag of bones, it's awful to see, the nurse and vet today explained that this is muscle he has lost and is normal and will return when or if he becomes mobile. He assured me Jack is going in the right direction and is doing really well after such a short time, we just want our boy back, we have to be positive for Jack's sake but honestly sometimes the enormity of it overwhelmes me. On a more positive note we can take Dexter to see him on Saturday, they will put him in one of the big consulting rooms so they have got plenty of space, we are all sure it will be wonderful for both dogs as they are really missing one another. The nurse did say that all the nurses are in love with Jack and even the Receptionist comes in every morning to see him, which is lovely for us to hear. Thank you for thinking about him, we really appreciate it Kate xxxxxxx

TC took me for a walk really early this morning, thought it was because it was hot but when we got home mom had packed lots of bags and left them by the front door.... I sat in front of it to stop her leaving but much to my surprise I was harnessed up and loaded into the car. We drove for weeks with a man shouting things like 'burns night' and mom said "look Florence whales". I looked out of the window but couldn't even see any water let alone any whales. Eventually we arrived at uncle Ian and uncle Michaels house! I got really excited. This afternoon we went to the lumpy bit of land, somebody has built a 3/4 finished bungalow on it! Mom was happy and I got a strawberry ice cream. Lubs Florence xx

Monty (Sam)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Sorry...... Had not finished (or spell checked last comment before accidentally hitting 'add'). As I was saying, we carried on walking and all of a sudden a whippet staffy cross on a long lead jumped off one of the barges followed closely by its owners. Sam didn't bat an eyelid and stood lapping up all the attention from both the people and dog!! Considering this dog appeared out of no where, Sam's lack of reaction was amazing. We walked a little further, where we met a small fluffy dog. He was a bit bouncy with this dog but I think it was just because she didn't want to play and he couldn't understand why. He walked and travelled beautifully. He settled immediately in the car and had a waggy tail for everyone he met . Like I said, he's an absolute star xx

Over the Rainbow Bridge
Sam came out for a walk with me this afternoon along the canal. He was an absolute star. We hadn't been walking for very long when a barking staffy charged at us. My heart was in my mouth as I genuinely thought this dog was going to attack. Sam however took it all in his stride and just stood there. The staffy stopped just past us and came to sniff Sam. He turned his head to have a look at him but that was the extent of his interest. We carried on walking only to be confronted by a whopper staffy

I’m Homed
It has been a day of nail cutting, teeth scraping and corn removals!!! It has been so warm again but grateful thanks to all our volunteers for giving up their time to help. I did the paperwork earlier for the lovely Shamus who is off to his new home on Friday and have just waved off Ronnie (aka Kado) with tears of happiness - his new owners came armed with a bag of peanut butter sandwich squares! He is going to have one very wonderful home :-))))
